Study Tips that work and save Time

studying for college exam  Exam Exhaustion

If only I had  learned “Peter M Vishton’s” techniques for studying before I went to college I would have had hours more time to party.  These techniques below were revealed to me in “Scientific Secrets for a Powerful Memory”  part of The Great Courses selection which live up to their name a bit too late in my case.  Here are a few of the key rules (below) and if you want more revelations buy the tape it will be a good investment in time and party.

(1) Agree to memorize certain facts and repeat those facts a certain amount of times.  Start out with two or three times repeating this information. It doesn’t matter whether it be spelling words, geometric equations, historical facts etc this technique will work.

(2) Take a break for 1 hour.

(3) Test yourself you will have forgotten at least 1/2 the facts but once you start studying them again you will retain this information at a much faster pace. Test yourself as you did in step in.

(4) Take a break for 2 hours

(5) Repeat step 3 and you will see that you’ve retained a great deal of information but still pieces are missing.  Studying time will be even faster and retention for the pieces that are still missing will be even greater.

(6) Take a 4 hour break

(7) Repeat step 3 and you’ll see an incredible learning and retention skill. Repeat this same process doubling or so the break time until you have the whole cake and the party can begin. I would recommend non-alcoholic party for alcohol destroys brain cells and/or memory.

SECRETS- To remembering NAMES

Top Secret 1 fogetting a name

I’m about to reveal some “Top Secret” information that will allow you to remember someone’s name past the moment they tell you. It’s top secret because I sorta enjoy having this new “Super Power” but will tell only my closest blog supporters. I must give credit to “Peter M Vishton” who has revealed these secrets to me in his tape “Scientific Secrets for a Powerful Memory” part of The Great Courses series.  Here are a few key points (below)

(1) When you first learn the person’s name repeat it immediately to that person as much as you can. For example “Peter are you enjoying yourself?  Peter do you what the weather is going to be like in the next few days?” Small talk can lead to step one in memorizing a name.

(2) Code that name. Give that name a picture that is phonetic to the name you’ve just learned. I used Shake for Shaun and still see her moving her body every time I think of her name. I also used tone for Tommy and this has also been a motivating force for my gym workout.

(3) Make sure you call their name or repeat it in your head the next time you see them.

Donald Trump & Crying Wolves and Lions

Crying Wolf 3 Sky is falling

The media’s coverage of the Presidency of Donald Trump has put a true story to the “Crying Wolf” legend and I’m afraid of the ending.  For everyday another American citizens loses faith in you and the President is starting to switch channels even before the break.  What happens when there is truly a serious situation that occurs or G-D forbid the Trump Administration is about to do something they will regret will they or the general public actual listen to you before it’s too late? It’s time the media find some type of sea saw and try to be a bit lighter with the news for the sky is not falling and there is no wolf crying but if you continue in this path no one would ever know G-D forbid it should occur.

Neil Gorsuch – Uh- Oh Democrats

Neil Gorsuch

Neil Gorsuch has the experience, background and talent to be a great Justice for the Supreme Court which spells trouble for the Democrats. He came across as a warm congenial person on prime time with the American people whether you agree with his philosophy or not and that is going to make it very difficult for Democrats to filibuster. At the same time if they try to filibuster this Supreme Court Justice then Republican’s might change the rule for the rest of the Trump Administration of only requiring 51 votes for a Supreme Court nomination. Furthermore if they play dirty politics the dirt will spill on them on 2018 election.
