Live Through

My son is living the life that I missed and I’m exciting to see where it takes him. I never got to play football in my youth because it was too dangerous yet my son got to make the moves on my field of dreams.   While I would spend hours dreaming and thinking by myself my son instead is a social butterfly. He has helped me develop a wing in this area.  Right now he is a rocker in a band that has completed many different tours while I played the drums dreaming about bigger things. It’s awesome to see him fill in the pieces of the puzzle that I had left out.  G-D willing I can help make sure those pieces continue to fit so he can be the success in other areas that I missed out on.

President Obama’ Legacy

The President has much to cry about when looking back from where he started and where his administration appears to be heading. Here are some of his greatest accomplishments (below) and deepest failures that I believe we all can accept no matter what our political persuasion.

ACCOMPLISHMENT

  1. Call to Kill Osama Bin Laden- The President gave the go ahead to make this decision and deserves credit for it.
  2. Killing Pirates- He ordered the death of several pirates who were holding American’s for ransom.
  3. Economy- It’s a fake recovery based on holding interest rates artificially low but it is better then he started with. Many might put in the failure category because of the expectations but I wanted to give some credit.

FAILURES

  1. ISIS- This terrorist organization didn’t exist before his turn and he allowed it grow to the Cancer it is today as it has spread around the world.
  2. Death of 500,000- His inaction after drawing a red line allowed Assad to produce the killing fields in Syria.
  3. Obamacare- This rise in premiums and patients losing their doctors was never in this prescription.
  4. Relationship with allies- The world is in a mess and we don’t have the support team behind us to help clean it up.
  5. Police Shootings- The amount of officers killed is directly related to the trash talk of law enforcement which was all to acceptable in the White House.

Obama’ Farewell Address- Missed It

Please don’t cry I’m sorry I didn’t know it meant so much to you that I watched your speech President Obama.  I just had a lot on my plate including brushing my teeth throwing out some trash and catching up with some sleep that is sorta skipped my calendar.  It is not as if we agreed on your legacy or perspective on political matters so unless you were speaking about the movies why continue this farce. Don’t worry I promise we’ll be a lot closer starting on 1/21/17 when you enter a new house.

Music Expert

You’re a music expert, not the boy in the bow tie, but anyone who was a teenager in the 1980’s or earlier and turned on the radio then.  For your knowledge of music is truly admired by those of the later generation, a matter of fact you’re a musical encyclopedia to them. They don’t have encyclopedia’s anymore so you can explain that to them as well but that’s a whole other topic. The good news is the older you get the more of an expert you are so there is a good reason to not be afraid of getting old because you’ll appear smarter year by year at least in music knowledge.

ROCK STAR -dad/mom

Beyond the lights of most “Rock Stars” is a parent sitting way in the upper seats. The parent who paid for their years of training whether professional or in the garage with $$’s and/or late night jams….very late.  A parent who kept the money flowing as their son or daughter was still a rock waiting to climb the steps to a star.  The parent who got the stares from other parents who’s child was in a more respectful position lawyer, doctor, engineer.    This parent will never get the accolades of the fans or play on the big stage. So the next time you see that star not only thank them for their awesome performance but for the parents who got them on the stage in the 1st place.

Next in Line -FAILS

We can determine from recent history that the “next in line” theory of electing candidates from either party is a sure fire way to failure.  That an “individual” earned the right of the party loyalty because they waited in line and now it’s their time no matter what the voters really want is a sure fire way to pick Bob Dole, Mitt Romney, Hillary Clinton or in other words get the other party in office.  Instead the party should seek an individual who truly excites the grassroots by touching on the issues that adds electricity to a campaign even if it means touching the 3rd rail. We might want to be loyal to those that served but if we want to win then let’s worry about being loyal to those that pay their checks instead .

Jared Kushner- White House Senior Adviser-Pride

As a proud Jewish American I can say I take a special pride that Jared Kushner has been named Senior White House Adviser.  Mr. Kushner is a successful businessman who isn’t afraid to express and participate in faithful Jewish observation.  His knowledge in various areas will help to make sure the Trump Administration is well informed with the particulars it needs to hear while his faith should assist that it is a morale correct decision as well.

Kirsten Wiig & Steve Carrell- Not Meryl Streep

I was going to put up Meryl Streep’s diatribe against us deplorable s but then I thought why give her anymore publicity for this trash. Kirsten Wiig & Steve Carrell on the other hand understand (at least on Golden Globe night) that entertainers are meant to entertain us not lecture us.  Maybe they realize that us deplorable’s actually go out and pay to see their performances and if annoyed enough will actually spend our $’s elsewhere even if the Hollywood Elite forbid us too.  While Meryl Streep is upset with some of the words that Donald Trump said during an election she doesn’t appear to be upset with the actions including child rape by Roman Polanski and the barely legal actions (depending on who is the D.A)  of her friend Hillary Clinton. It’s enough to make us deplorable’s decide to switch the channel or just turn it off luckily Steve Carrel & Kristen Wiig saved the day for actual “entertainment”.

Pioneer Cabin Tree Down-

For those like I who felt they could wait an extra year or even day to see and experience this 1000 year old tree I guess our time has gone.  Imagine for a 1000 years people could walk through this tree and now we are the only one’s who won’t be able.   Generation after generation would speak about it’s glorious wonder and for us it will only be a memory that other’s will see in pictures. Yesterday was only just a tree away.
