Faith & Politics

A Priest, Rabbi, & Minister walk into a bar and don’t talk about politics but will they speak about their views from the Pew well I guess it depends on how there contract is written. For when a person of the cloth dwells in the political realm they must have faith that at least 1/2 their congregants don’t walk out in disgust. It is difficult to come to some political agreements when even in the same Church/Synagogue there arguing about areas of the faith.

Yet without honest discussion on the hear and now I wonder how relevant such words can be to the congregants. Maybe as a religious leader you can’t directly support a candidate but can you ignore the policies that could hurt your congregants physically, emotionally and/or spiritually in the hear and now, without saying a word in defense or offense.  It is a difficult weave to walk but those that wear the cloth must continue to walk it, even if sometimes they slip, for faith must be observed in all our action even those that can divide.
