In a free market system or sporting event coming in 3rd can truly be rewarding whether it be through a financial return or endorsements but in politics they make it appear as if you didn’t even run the race. Even if millions of people supported your efforts financially, at the voting booth, and with tireless volunteer efforts this still doesn’t count in many people’s books. I would be smiling from head to toe if my blog was 3rd most popular in almost any category, or if my business was the 3rd biggest in the city, and if my movie came in 3rd with the viewers yet politics demands winner take all the glory. There is one exception and that is if you collect delegates. Be careful then who you call “a loser” to in this ball game because the Republican Convention is just around the corner and that the 3rd place finisher might be the one who truly puts you over the top.
