It’s a rare moment in my life when I truly hear silence ; from the voices at work to the sounds of my family at home silence is something that is truly rare.   Yet occasionally the family goes away and all of a sudden the only sound I hear is the creak of a door, the washing machine or my dog eating a bone.  Every sound that pops out is amplified and every sound is clearer then ever before.   The sounds become even louder as the night takes over and the house is truly empty.  I  can understand how those who are alone can make those sounds have different meanings until the point where they go insane. For now the silence is refreshing and awakens a new understanding of the world I am living in but if it lasts to long who knows where it would take me.

My mind raced with thoughts of  seeking final retribution for a despicable action brought upon myself and my family.  One man had tried to crush my life just as it was beginning to blossom with a vile false accusation that sent me to a prison cell.  I stared at the walls wondering how I could get my life back and what I needed to do to seek justice ; violence appeared to be the only answer.  Upon my release and nullification of this sick accusation vengeance still held a hold onto my heart that is until I let my heart beat to a different rhythm.  One day it dawned upon me like a vision in the night sky that I hate what this man did but I wouldn’t allow myself to hate him.  A matter of fact I pitied him for how horrible a life this man had to have to stoop to such a low level over some political disagreement. My mind was clearly at peace and as time went G-D sought justice for me as this individual was accused of crime he didn’t commit.   The truth is I thank G-D for this vision for without it I could have been looking at prison walls for a very long time and the life I’ve lead would have never occurred.

We work to provide for ourselves and our family but what we do for society counts just as much. For those that have jobs that hurt or destroy other life’s find their own life’s absent of any true merit.  It is only when we perform work that adds to the benefit of others that we ourselves earn another step toward the golden gate while those who’s work to hurts society (hard core drug dealers, child pornographers, abortionists) fall down those steps head first.  Therefore  choose jobs that add to life and your life here and in the eternal will be much brighter.

They say that there are 3 subjects matters not to bring up in a “polite conversation” politics, religion and money but I feel what’s the point of talking if you can’t bring up at least 2 out of 3.  I understand for many this crosses some line that sets off an angry emotional response yet I can’t understand how mature adults can’t have a civilized conversation on these topics.  Unless the conversation gets into ad hominem attacks we should be able to discuss almost anything logically and agree to come to differing conclusions.   Therefore crossing that line truly doesn’t occur by the subject matter you’re speaking about but the person you’re speaking to.

As many in the faith community study  “miracles” that are tied to their faith (ex 7 Plaques, Jesus etc) many of us wonder where are those miracles today?  Yet every day that we get up and breath air is a miracle in itself. For if the combination of oxygen and CO2 was just off a bit, the sun was only one millimeter closer or further away, or a thousand other things differed just a bit we wouldn’t have that breath.  Maybe we if we take the time to appreciate the miracles of daily life a bit more then we could see the bold other miracles in our life. Here (below) are just a few miracles I’ve witnessed.

(1) The prayers of loved ones (including me) on behalf of those who were on their death beds recovering with no medical reason known.

(2) Many a lost item suddenly found after a prayer in which I had looked for this item in that location in the past.

(3) Experiencing breakthroughs in my business where there was no hope before such a prayer.

(4) Witnessing faith healing at the time of such a prayer.

(5) The continual existence and growth of the state of Israel as it is surrounded by enemies from almost all sides.

(6) The destruction of the Soviet Union in my lifetime.

(7) The birth of my children.

(8) A call received just as a thought of that person or event occurred in one’s head

(9) Sukkot Miracle- Just as the rain drops starting to fall I asked G-D to intercede and move it away. The rain left our Sukkot only to return with full strength once we returned inside

(10) Praying that my wife’s Diabetic meter stop ringing out and it did.

(11) A simple prayer with a friend lead me to find something I was looking for all day long as soon as I turned around.

(12) Witnessing a loved one suddenly turn from extreme anger to peace in an instant when this never occurred before. I prayed when the tension appeared to begin.

(13) My car being left without basically a scratch after expert said it wouldn’t even survive. (longer version available). Prayer occurred before.

(14) Suddenly finding my daughter after a heartfelt prayer.
