Not every person has the same desire to be free. Some people would rather be led like a sheep then worry about falling off the cliff by their own decision. Fear might play a key role in these people’s life but also the desire to have a black and white attitude in the world. It is much easier when we see the world in two different contrasts and when such leadership paints that picture why argue with it especially if we’re on the good side. That is why dictatorships continue to pop up and are more difficult to battle then we might assume. That is also why dependent societies on governmental “necessities” continue to grow even in such democracies. Many of us would rather have someone element take care of us then have to make our own decisions. Only when we open the individual to see their own human potential will freedom truly spread around the world.
