Positive Regulations

HACKED

If you know me you general won’t see these two words positive and regulation in the same sentence but there are exemptions. Usually I prefer incentives for businesses to do the right thing but when it comes to our national security and the rights of an individual then government might have such a limited right to get involved.  Here are two examples where I believe the government should act. FOR THOSE THAT OBJECT PLEASE PROVIDE AN ALTERNATE REMEDY.

(1) GAS NATIONAL SECURITY ACT– Our country must not be dependent on oil from the Mideast to survive and currently members of OPEC are trying to destroy this industry in our own land. Therefore the government must purchase and store gas from the foreign markets to insure our industries don’t go bankrupt. By buying the supply it will regulate the price so our companies can still survive and our government can release that oil should OPEC try to raise prices excessively in the future.

(2) EMAIL PRIVACY ACT– Individual citizens should expect a certain degree of privacy when they send private text, emails or other ways to communicate. Therefore the press should be forbidden to report on such emails or other ways to communicate without the consent of at least one of the parties.
