high school

Students hold that tear. Allow it to placed in the ground and let it grow like roots to a tree, as you gain knowledge and build yourself up. For thirty years from now that black and white pain you bear  so deeply will dissipate like midst in the sky and you will see colors that you never perceived exists. Many of the beautiful people will still be beautiful but not just in their outside appearance. Those who made you feel so little will appear little in your eyes and thoughts now . Finally, you will see many of the wonderful people you were unable to see before because of the pain that covered them from your view. Students the hurt, loneliness and insecurity you feel right now will bring you tears but trust may stay on the positive course and G-D willing they will be washed away bringing you only success and happiness in the future.

Wall Street Journal Weekend Review- November 15th- ARTICLES TO DISCUSS

wall street Journal

I decided to focus on the articles that you could bring up in a discussion that might be going know where. The conversational news items might help you also discover more about the person you’re talking to then their favorite type of coffee. Here are the five news stories I believe are worthy for further discussion and some of the question(s) you might ask.

(1) Boko Haram has taken control of the same Nigerian town in which it?  previously kidnapped 300 girls. – Q – Should the U.S do anything to help this town? If so what? If not why?

(2) Farmed fish continues to grow with 42% of the fish consumed coming from this method in 2012 while it was only 13.4 % in 1990.  Q- Are you concerned about this pattern? Why or Why not?

(3) 56% of the 2.75 million Muslims want their religion to adopt more American customs?  Q-Is this a trend that we can spread throughout the Middle East?

(4) A commentator discussed the way that the policy of broken windows needs to be applied to our foreign policy. This policy basically states that when we say something we must commit to it full force but at the same time pick and choose the battles we are directly going to fight. Q- Do you believe this policy would truly be an effective way to deal with foreign policy issues?

(5) An opinion piece noted that their appears to be an ingrain fascination with severed heads.   These heads might cause us to act military as we have seen after the ISIS beheading of Americans or we might go to a museum to wait in line and explore a Shrunken head but no matter what we can’t ignore these impulses or can we?  Q- Why do you believe this occurs and what if anything can we do about it?

H.S. Reunion

high school 2

Did you hate high school or was it the anguish of teenage years?  Was the cruelty drawn out of reality or was it based on a perceived reality of the youth? These are some of the questions I will explore as I attend my High School Reunion. As an adult when I look back at the High School years I realize there weren’t just black and white images but ones filled with many different colors. There were times of great lows but also of incredible natural highs that might have been overshadowed by low self esteem and the feeling that everyone kept a record of my ever move or fall. There were plenty of kind, warm people but I recognize that those times of cruelty enveloped me like a dark cloud covering the sun.  Tonight I will see if I can find some light in the teenage years that often appeared very dark.

How?

how

I’ve committed my own share of sins so I can understand many errors in judgement that people can make but some acts are beyond my comprehension. I’m not talking about the psychotic hideous acts that we as a society condemn but one’s that are on the borderline with many yet to me are despicable. They are heinous to me because I can’t understand even in the worst condition performing these acts.  Here are just a few PLEASE FEEL FREE TO COMMENT & SHARE

(1) SEAL HUNTING – This isn’t hunting but brutally slaying an animal for it’s fur.

(2) ABORTIONIST- Although I’m committed to the Pro-Life stance I can understand the difficult decision this can be for many but how can your conscious stay pure when your job is decapitate and kill the conscious of the innocent unborn.

(3) HEROINE DEALER- I disagree with the use of any illegal drug but can’t imagine making monies off selling a substance that is known to permanently damage or kill my customers. There isn’t a dollar amount in the world that would make me to stoop to this vile level.

Dog Sickness

Posted by Bruce - in Blog - No Comments

When your dog is sick their is a unique sadness that envelopes the entire family.  They don’t complain as us human’s do but their sickness is shown through their lack of energy and enthusiasm that normally so penetrates their life.  The great joy that they have in eating food or playing catch is set aside as they nap their day and night away.  We as their friends feel that sickness because those little things that made them so happy aren’t helping and as such we lose out on those little pleasures as well. When recovery (G-D willing) occurs we also again enjoy those little pleasures. How long it last depends on the owner.  Stop licking me! I’ll play ball later! It’s just chicken!

Voter ID vs Fingerprints

Posted by Bruce - in Blog - No Comments

I understand that there are individuals who don’t want to show an Identification Card to vote, for those individuals a simple fingerprint will due.  Individuals or organization who would prefer to participate in this plan would contact the election officials who would then collect their Fingerprints and have them ready for the ballot box.  The individual would then have their fingerprint scanned on election day (for verification) and be able to vote.

Kind too…

Who knows where our own acts of kindness and charity may lead  us to. Rebekah’s small acts  of kindness led to her become the matriarch of a great people but her acts were done not for their reward but because they were the right way to act. In the first encounter we have with Rebekah the matriarch of many of our faiths  shows kindness to  animals.  We can infer from this message that if it’s important to be kind to animals then surely we must be kind to our fellow man or woman.  Acts of kindness may appear to lead us to a dead end but G-D might instead show us a U Turn that opens our world to a new path of hope and happiness that we were unable to see before we acted.

Sad Truth

massacrre

It’s sad but true in the end cruelty works. Throughout history those tyrannical leaders who are the most cruel appear to be hold on to power. For example it took major wars to eliminate Hitler and Saddam Hussein but Iran’s Shah and England’s reign over it’s colonies occurred with much little bloodshed.  Just the illusion of being able to do whatever it takes to keep power insure the dictators reign of terror but when challenged the more cruel his/her response the more likely they will hold onto that power. The only way such evil can be eliminated is either by totally destruction of that source of evil (ISIS) or some spark of humanity to seep through (Soviet Union) and watch the whole process slowly crumbly from within.  We can try and contain it like Cancer but overtime that evil can seep through and kill more people then if we didn’t initially act.

Names Matter

Angels

Why does a person route for one team over the other?  It might concern supporting your home town or because of a memory you and a loved one had routing for such an organization. These are many of the reasons I support such teams but names still do matter.  I’m a big California Angels and New Orlean Saints fan yet despise the Oakland Raiders and the NJ Devils. If companies will spend a large part of their budget on deciding a name I as a fan can route for a team that has the name I like.  Many local football fans might believe this is silly but is it silly to support the NY Giants who play in NJ?  In conclusion no matter what team you support for whatever reason I hope you still enjoy the game in the end.
