Step 1 – Seat belt laws

The restriction on personal liberty in our modern era started with the seat belt laws which force individuals to wear this device or face prosecution by the state.  I believe it’s important to wear a seat belt and make those who want to sit in the front seat with me wear it as well but it shouldn’t be mandated by the state. Simply stated adult should be able to make their own decisions on personal safety as long as those acts don’t hurt others in between. The state must respect individual adult rights to pursue liberty and the right of happiness the way the deem correct.
