Hispanic Now Tomorrow Chinese

Google World Google Search

Today according to the world of “Google” I’m Hispanic tomorrow maybe I’ll become Chinese. For I let play Despacito by Luis Fonsi on youtube.com long after the song ended which led me down the world of other Hispanic music and advertising and into the Latin world I never fully heard or saw before. So if you want to become someone your ethnicity or genetics hasn’t allowed you to be let Google do the search and your return home won’t require any special shoe’s just a click to a different search.

Chris Cornell RIP a different take

Chris Cornell RIP Soundgarden

I was saddened by the loss of Chris Cornell not for the work on Soundgarden but for the reason we are sad when a person passes on, especially at a young age. The truth is I never fully appreciated the music of this group and don’t see that occurring any time in the future but I appreciate the pain his loss brings to his family, friends and those who have enjoyed his “talents”. Talents that include his music but also the gifts of happiness and love he brought to many. So rest in peace Chris Cornell we will miss you even those who may never had the chance to enjoy your music.

It Inspired Me!

This song inspired me today! Instead of a regular drive home with news and political commentators singing was my new inspiration.  It didn’t matter the traffic or the tone of my voice I sang as if I was playing in front of Carnegie Hall (empty of course).  It brought back memories and dreams that have long since vanished but for the moment came alive.  Yes it was the great escape and I thank the Thompson Twins for allowing me to have such a moment tonight and maybe they’ll inspire you as well.

When a musician who has used their hands to make art and living is slowly deprived of such a skill it appears to be especially cruel to him as well as  his fans. Jeff Cook from the group of Alabama is in such a fight against Parkinson that will test his will when something so importantly to him is being taken away. G-D willing he will be able to develop new ways to express the art that is in his mind/soul and somehow a miraculous cure will enable him to come back playing the music the way he has for so long.

Is this Country?

This song was played on a country song and is catchy but is it country? If you conclude it’s country then how do you determine this to be the case except noting that  the artist are country singers? Yet if you consider it not country then why would it be on radio stations that play country music? Just something to think about before they play “Shinedown” on your hip hop stations.
