It’s a present that goes back and forth for as long as both live. Where one gives a gift which requires no thought only $$. Simply an exchange system from one birthday or celebration to another and in return one waits for the other to up the ante as if it was a card game.  No creativity or thought is required just an addition or minus from one’s balance sheet.  The victor is truly the last one standing unless they are paying for the others funeral expense.

I’m a “Pillie” for there is a pill for any of my needs or desires. Whether I feel to sad or too happy a pill can help me deal with that. If there is a pain in my neck or toe one maybe two pill(s) and it’s gone. If my skin appears to be dry or oily well I’ll just pop one in my mouth and it’s all better.  My pills are a part of my life so no matter where I go they come for the ride.  I even have a pill to deal with my anxiety that my pills might not be working or that I forget one or is two.  I’m a “Pillie”and my drug companies are proud of me.

I’m caught in a dichotomy with two foundation principles one is the right to life and the other is the free marketplace where one will have to give.  For today there are people who can’t financial afford to fight a catastrophic illness that could take their life and for this reason I’m going to put my capitalist mind aside as I provide a bit of a socialist solution.  This solution will enable every person to have the means to have the necessary tools to stay afloat financially as well as with their heartbeat. Here are the key factors (below) that will enable this to occur.

(1) Every person would pay a small added tax that would be put in their own Catastrophic Illness Fund. If a person seeks to be excluded from such a tax they will pay a penalty.

(2) These funds would be automatically put through a private insurance company which could invest them in Federal Bonds to increase the amount in said account but couldn’t be diverted anywhere else.

(3) Additional funds for the Catastrophic Funds would be based on a small sales tax on items/services which have had a negative health influence on our society (ex Cigarettes, Sugar, Lard, Hang Gliding)

(4) If a person or their loved ones suffer from  G-D forbid a Catastrophic Illness they would only pay a token amount and the rest would be paid by the fund.

(5) In the case said individual doesn’t utilize these funds during their lifetime a portion of the savings will be given to their heirs as an inheritance or to pay for funeral expenses.

So you think you’re life will be easier if you go in your family business well then you better get back to the  books. For family businesses might give you access to continue the heritage but access doesn’t lead to success. Here are just a few problems you will face.

(1) RECOGNITION– Unless you add your own profile to the picture you will never feel the recognition others give to your predecessor. This profile will have to be completely different and successful which can be as difficult as starting a business from scratch.

(2) HARD WORK– Your predecessor didn’t get to the level of success that they have by taking time off and with event’s in the business world constantly changing you’re going to have put more time in then if you had started from the beginning.

(3) RECOGNITION TWO– You can truly update and take the business to a whole new level yet don’t expect to receive the recognition others who have done less will feel from society as a whole.

(4) FAMILY– Even the strongest family relationship will be hurt at times as business decisions impact after work activities.

(5) TRUTH– You might have been left with a great business from the outside but inside there are many problems that you will have to fix which will be more complicated as family ego’s are involved.

(6) FAILURE– No matter how long you keep the business running after your predecessor if it eventually closes for any reason it will seep onto your lap that you not only ended a business but your predecessors legacy.

(7) NEVER KNOW– The truth is by committing yourself to the family business many other avenues will be closed and leaving will be harder then ever. Which will have you ponder for life “what if”?

(8) JEALOUSY- Many assumptions will be made about how got where you are without the facts in between and where shoes are not only not worn but truly looked at.

In my life I lost many a friend. Some were just friends for the moment while others were lost after being with me way too long. There are friends that I might not see again because they are only hear by a distant heartbeat and others that although within blocks have just become way too distant.  Friendships which were ended without me knowing and one’s that I knew should end.  Whether it was strong words of racism, jealousy, egotism or just plain boredom sometimes it makes sense to start anew. It’s more likely in the end that you will friendships throughout one’s life then ones which will last a lifetime.

I don’t own a crystal ball but still have only one vision on how this government shutdown ends.  This vision is not seen through glass but logic instead. The Democrats and President can’t concede or their base will be in uproar  throwing 2020 into the other parties victory column. Yet an executive order stating that the border in National Emergency won’t be declared until either the following scenarios (below) occur.  Then the President will divert monies to protect our border while he is challenged in the court till the 2020 election. The President in between will sign bills to restore full government funding and this battle will be dead center for the 2020 election.

(1) ONE TRAGEDY- Some public incident will propel the President to act as an illegal immigrant commits a heinous crime.

(2) DRUG BUST- A huge seizure of drugs followed by  a Presidential visit at said site will the impetus to demand action.

(3) NEW CARAVAN- As the group of illegal immigrants try to enter our country the President will say it’s time to act.

(4) COMBINATION- Maybe bits of the 4 scenarios will cause the President to commit to said action.

FOOTNOTE- G-D willing the tragedy occurs but with over 11 million illegal immigrants in the country would it really surprise us if it did?

There are many times in one’s life when one encounters an individual’s work which appears way above their own brain grade. It’s that individual who has truly dedicated their life to a project not knowing in the beginning whether there would even be an ending. Years of hard research and work go into one project that even as the last period is placed the future is still as blurry as the idea they started with. They will spend years in their world as the world around them spins in a different direction.  Their world will consume many a relationship or friendship as their work becomes the impetus to keep living. “The Atlantis Gene” is just one of those works where the individual must conclude no matter what there final opinion of the book is, that the author  A.G. Riddle is absolutely brilliant.  Yet how many other stories of brilliance are left on an unopened library shelf only to be read by those who have written them or those who decide to tell their stories.

We all do or buy things that ad prestige to our name whether we admit it or not.  It could be that car we hardly take out of the driveway or that bottle of wine kept for another generation. Maybe it’s that restaurant you reserved for that special occasion or tickets for a concert you can tell people about for a lifetime. It can be as bold as writing a movie or book or a simple statement such a limited black credit card.  We might act like we all want to belong but in the end in someway we all want to feel special with prestige that sets us apart.

Have you ever told a joke that was a total flop? Where it was   dead before you even got close to the punch line. It is the type of joke you wish could surgical remove from your mouth before you opened it. A joke where you needed an interrupter in cheesy humor to deceiver it for your audience and even then it still stunk.  Well when circumstances like these occur just remember they are laughing inside even if they may never realize it … at someone else’s joke.
