Politics demand a shiny new person to fill in “their excitement gap”. Whether it be old policies that are put in a bright shiny package or a person who supposedly speaks to a new generation or those “left behind”, politics demands new and shiny. Someone who looks, feels or acts like no politician under the table. They may not be the best candidate but if their shiny and new many will polish up to them. In 2020 it’s the Democrats chance to bring out their new star but just be wary my friends from the left you are not so happy with our choice of shiny new on our right so you might not be happy for the one you pick on the left as well.
