Guatemala- Day 4-ish- Return Hell

Guatemala Airport

Sometimes the arrival home can be more of an adventure then the journey there and that is a good way to put this day. It started out great with a wonderful complimentary breakfast that was one of the best I’ve ever eaten or at least the best in this country. Everything you could think about it was on the table and dishes you never knew existed. The Guatemala airport went smoother then I expected and there were plenty of places to shop along the way to my gate.

Everything was going as planned until we arrived back in the United States where Houston was less then hospitable. My son was taken in a special room by Homeland Security which I couldn’t visit partially because we took the wrong Passport  but basically because he fit their profile of someone else. My family had to wait in a separate area as they had me personally pick up our luggage to be boarded on a separate plane. My son was finally releasaed from homeland security but his passport was taken and when I tried to get it back they made me feel as if I was the next person they would bring in their room. We barely made our connecting flight and touched down in Newark way past my night time.  To conclude flight travel can bring you down instead of flying high.
