We could have been laughing as we went for a wonderful meal together but I forgot to say “hi”. It wasn’t that I was being rude I just didn’t want to get in your way or maybe I thought you’d start the conversation first. Maybe it was meant to be for my “hi” might have come across as being to aggressive or we could have this really awkward moment of silence then what? No, I just forgot to speak for I really wanted to say hello and now it’s just a quiet goodbye.
