When I was growing children were put in their classes jocks, fashionistas, nerds, druggies and outsiders. I was an outsider the person who wouldn’t easily fit any of the categories but who could sometimes slip into the “nerd” category if I didn’t (literally) fight my way out of it. Just recently when I told a loved one about my passion for reading and learning they told me that was because I’m a “Nerd”. This led me to a new awareness that maybe I just am and if so I’m proud to be one. For let’s face it “Nerds” create some of the greatest items and thoughts that we continue to ponder. The truth is maybe all along I was an outsider with “nerdy tendencies” which means I was a rebel from the beginning.
