Today I walk on the white side and the fear grows! For one step or crunch in the wrong direction and this could be the end. Where black is easy and dare I say cool white is stiff and resistant to change. White won’t allow a budge of any others to touch it’s surface without leaving a mark. Today I wear white but tomorrow the color may never be the same.
When did bullying become a Social Media App which can be turned off or on whenever or wherever you want? Bullying used to be worrying about going to a location and being teased head on. There was no way to turn off a bully unless you were willing to use a fist not a button. If you can’t handle or stop liking Sarahah and Yik Yak (now shutdown) you can disable this App from your life but try doing that with an actual bully. Sarahah allows people to post anonymous comments about your work performance which might not always be complimentary but also could be very helpful. It may not be the political correct thing to say but if Sarahah really starts bothering then turn it off try saying that to a really bully instead.
We live in a world where today’s “can’t live without” are things we lived without only days ago. Technology is moving so fast that it’s hard to image what will occur in the next year let along the next decade but I believe gene therapy will be at the top of the list. For the ability to change a gene to cure a sickness or change the one feels without the need of medicine will truly altar the world we live in. I also believe that driver less cars will enable all of us to get around at all stages of our lives and in all different conditions. Without appearing too old here are a few breakthrough’s of my lifetime.
(1) Microwave Oven– Yes I actually had to wait to get my food.
(2) Fax– Your word was literally your bond growing up with no paper in-between.
(3) Home Computer– We actually had to go to a place called the library to discover information.
(4) Social Media- People would actually have to talk to each other face to face to see if they were a friend.
(5) Music/Entertainment- There have been so many advances in this category but basically in my days if you didn’t see on the big three ABC, CBS,NBC when it occurred you wouldn’t see it all. Playing your favorite song required more then pressing a button or two but actually waiting and buying.
(6) Cell Phone- The dream of the rich and famous has now found it’s way to Tom, Dick and Harry of all ages.
(7) Cancer – This word symbolized slow and painful death growing up. Thank G-D I live within a time period where it has become a way of life to be conquered for many, many more people.
The last great divide we have with others is over $$. In the past there were divisions based on race, religion, sections of country etc and although the slate isn’t totally clean on any of those areas it’s a whole less cloudy yet the $$ divide remains strong. For those with means eat, sleep, vacation and even may work in environments totally opposite of those that lack this resource. This divide becomes more pronounced because when you spend only time in your world the other world can appear something that it truly isn’t. Of course there are “McDonald’s and cultural cues that bring us together but not enough to climb this wall between us. Initiatives must be taken so that we don’t become to insular and see each other for who we are not by the characters others play about us. This is a wall that needs to come down.
The Senate should vote to repeal Obamacare plain and simple then replace certain bits that the American people really want. They would be individual pools set up for those for pre-existing conditions, having plans that allow children to stay on their families plans till 25, expand health savings accounts, allow people to buy insurance past state lines etc. This should be followed by the House and occur within a week so the President can enact these bills into law. Let’s move the ball forward instead of just playing with it.
Do you ever think you care too much? While others around seemed preoccupied with enjoying their life you’re worrying if you make them happy. Are you the type of person who will go the extra 2 miles to make sure you’ve satisfied your customer even if it leaves you longing for a moment of sleep, while others have already gone to bed. Your the type of person who’s political decisions might actually hurt your pocketbook but open an opportunity for others. You constantly worry about hurting people so you hardly ever tell them what you actually feel even when your feeling angry and disappointed. It’s enough to say how about ME? Well just remember that above all these clouds that there is one watching and keeping track of what we do and why we do it and it spells out in M-E time for you and me.
Think of all the places your cell phone has been and what is has touched then think about who is touching it now and where your hands go after, it’s gross! “CELL PHONE CLEAN” will be the one App that takes care of killing those pesty germs and viruses that want to cling onto to your cell phone like a bad cold. This App will send a quick high voltage electric current to your cell phone which will kill those viruses/germs, then all you have to do is apply the special cloth to put them where they belong, the garbage. CELL PHONE CLEAN” because you love your phone not the things that cling to it.
In a strange twist of irony the vote on the Senate’s replacement healthcare bill is being held up because a Senator is sick. Could this point to a deeper issue that our healthcare system is sick and getting sicker or that the bill they proposed in the Senate is sickly. I tend to argue with the first point because it appears that the Senator (G-D willing) appears to be on his point of recovery and if so maybe it’s a sign we can actually cure the healthcare system we have now. Of course Senator Mccain won’t have a perfect recovery and they’ll be some bumps along the way as the new healthcare bill will have it’s problems. Yet if watch the Senator carefully as we do the healthcare bill we can make changes to help perfect both. So let us pray that Senator Mccain and our healthcare system have full and complete recoveries.
Maybe it’s best to think of healthcare like a Chocolate bar for now we have even discovered that Chocolate is good for you. Yet not everyone desires the same brand there are even some sick individuals who enjoy Milk over Dark Chocolate (pun intended) yet isn’t it their decision in the end. We could decide that government tells everyone that 85% is the minimum Cocoa allowed ” a delicious decision” but is it right. For who who knows and can determine what really works for each individual and their families choice. Therefore let us have more variety in our healthcare and dare I say chocolate and let us the consumer have the freedom to decide what is best for us even if it’s milk.
Where would the undead of the big screen be if it wasn’t for George A Romero. You might say we would have our Vampires and Frankstein but nothing as truly creepy as the creature George A Romero brought to us the ” Zombie”. Gore wouldn’t be as rotting if this man wasn’t able to turn his vision of zombies into a reality that we now see as routine movies and T.V. shows of today but was truly an experiment in horror of those days. RIP George A. Romero unless your movies have a certain reality that we never knew was coming.
