You try to help a person in need and they stab you and your family in the back you might be naive but you are not wrong. For giving someone a hand or a dollar when they appear to be in need is the right thing to do even if you’ve been screwed before. Of course I don’t recommend you open your arms to everyone but if you did it might be a bit stupid (maybe a whole lot) but it definitely isn’t wrong. Those that have betrayed our trust are the one’s who are wrong and we are right for at least trying to make a difference.
