Today’s Mother’s Day Event turned out to be a bunch of DISASTERS which a trained chef or therapist could take care too bad my training wasn’t to deep in these fields.   Here’s a brief list of the problems that went wrong and the band aids that I tried to apply.

(1) PINA COLADA DISASTER- The mix was coming out just right in the blender when we realized that the nut on the blender wasn’t actually tight enough and my floor and the dog enjoyed the drink instead. We tried to salvage what we could and a bit here or there but it turned out to be a bit here rather then there in the end.

(2) FREE ICE- The Ice was perfectly placed in the bucket when the handle decided to come lose and deliver it to the Pina Colada floor.  I had ice enough for this recovery and my floors actually turned out to be a bit cleaner and cooler …literally.

(3) PASTA WATER- The first batch was delicious pasta sauce but the second batch turned out to be water.  I combined the two together and added a few tomatoes but with my guest a bit late everything was older then it should have been.

(4) YOU TRY IT- My guest decided to try a different restaurant in advance even without any knowledge of the disasters above. Some of my dishes were actually delectable, seriously and now I’m stuck with enough food for the next 2 Mother’s Day’s

FOOTNOTE- In the end everyone appeared to have a great time and even I sorta smiled. Next year less dishes and better preparations of who is coming, what they will eat and when they will actually arrive.
