As I spend my normal hours absorbing the Wall Street Journal one story stayed in my long term memory and it dealt with short term. For although it might appear that we forgot something we experienced a time ago it is not so, instead the thought, idea, image is kept in a certain hibernation place.  Which can be opened at a period when we least expected. This happened to me yesterday as a friend of mine asked me to name the DJ at a recent party it appeared the name had been put in my minds trash only to reappear as we were just about to leave the gathering. Could this mean if we find the exact spot these memories are kept that we could reverse some of the effects of “Alzheimer’s/ Dementia?  For maybe a few memories are hidden in spots where the brain is healthy and could be retrieved with some type of electric pulse.  Who knows maybe this new discovery will help open up doors so we can actually remember where we put our keys as well.
