Dennis Byrd not only exemplified a great football player but a great person in general, who’s life ended in a tragic irony. He was part of the legendary NY Jets sack exchange that created much fear in a quarterback mind and then a freak accident took him off the field. We as loyal fans looked in shock as it appeared that this injury on the field, would leave him permanently disabled, yet within a year he walked back on the field. Which inspired many fans and ordinary people that through hard work,determination and faith we can conquer the most difficult challenges, What a tragic irony then to discover that another accident would finally take this great man away from us. This time it was a car not a body that caused this tragic loss. May the knowledge that Dennis Byrd inspired many and continues to inspire those in heaven above give his family, friends and the millions that were touched by him some comfort during this difficult time.
