Ashley Madison Leaks & Morale Dilemma

Ashley Madison

Generally I believe it’s wrong to cheat but there are always exceptions to the rule such as a physically abusive spouse, or a spouse that won’t grant a divorce and that’s where a site like “Ashley Madison” might serve a purpose.  I also understand that the majority of people on such a site are using it for the wrong reason but does that give us the right to reveal such secrets? Could we prevent unwanted pregnancies and the spread of sexual diseases to the innocent if this knowledge was revealed? Would revealing such secrets help the spouse that is being cheated on know the truth and finally leave such a difficult relationship or cause public pain and shame?

Recently it was revealed that “Josh Duggar” the former “19 Kids and Counting Star” and social conservative was an active participant in this website.  The hypocrisy of his words and actions as shown through this actions are painfully clear.  It is also clear that the pain this public outing brings to his entire family including his children is something that they don’t deserve.  The truth is the truth but sometimes I wonder if it is necessary for us all to know it.

Ashley Madison is a business that  promotes acts that can cause great harm to our society but still deserves some protection in a free market economy how much is what is to be determined. For those that perform these acts are adults and do it of their own free will. It is the cheaters desires that hurt the innocent not the websites information. It is a difficult wire to cross but in the end the free marketplace and freedom of speech must prevail even if it’s wrong.  Therefore I wouldn’t be launching an FBI investigation into who leaked this information but if it came across the desk I would see that those who performed this act were prosecuted to lightest form of the law
