Trying to ignore

looking down

You don’t want to make a scene but really don’t want to speak to that person. It might be that they speak too long and you’ll waste your entire day, that you’re chemistries just don’t mix, or that their is some underlying anger you’ve left behind from your last conversation, so how can you escape? There could be the walk the other way, look down, drop something under you desk, or the old itch all over your face that might come to your rescue.  Yet sometimes those tricks just won’t work because their lingering over your area just a fly that can’t be swatted away. For those times the offensive must be taken.  Make sure you say a big hello as if it was a goodbye and then before they even have a chance to respond make sure that you and they notice that you just don’t have a moment to continue this conversation then leave until the next time …. in hell.

Paris Gunmen-Life Change

paris police

This morning 10 people went to a store for an ordinary day of shopping and their life’s changed forever. For they are now being held hostage by gunman in drama that is being played out on the world’s stage. I can only imagine the fear that is consuming these individuals as all they want is their “ordinary life back”.   It’s weird how one’s ordinary life can change in an instant and how quickly we could want it back.  May G-D help those innocent hostages get back from those arms that have taken them to the loving arms of family and friends.

Jurassic World- Still packing them in

jurassic world

I’m a little late to the ball game but still there are people in the stands. It’s amazing that “Jurassic World” is still bringing them (including me) after a relative long time in the film market! Maybe it’s because this a great movie that must be seen in a movie theatre. The visual and sound effects are so big that it would blow away any home movie system (except Mr. Spielberg” home system).   A great script with some silly moments as well make this the perfect summer flick even if you start your summer in July.

What you want?

thinking

Determining what you truly want might be one of the most difficult questions to answer. For what we believe we want is influenced by our culture, family, friends and even our rebellious side.  We might want that Mercedes but once we drive it realize it doesn’t do it for us as much as the commercial makes us think. It might appear that we want to go to that vacation in Europe until we realize this is the trip our parents scheduled for us. Driving that Harley may appear to make us feel free and rebellious until we are stuck behind the same traffic our car goes through.

To actually determine what one wants starts by examining who we are and what motivates that little clock in our chest to keep ticking.  Many of the greatest moments we enjoy take the least amount of effort and are truly simple such as enjoying a great conversation, reading an interesting book, or inventing our own recipe. In the end we might find out what we want is a combination plan full of love and affection, education, and exploration.  PLEASE SHARE YOUR COMMENTS.

Crazy Business- Fights

fight

It was just another day but this day my sensitivity button was on and when the word “Brucie” was directed at me I charged this 250lb individually as if I was a raging bull… all 150lbs of me.  This was a different time when I was as sensitive as the current American culture and although this could have resulted in me getting my head knocked out or being accused of employee abuse it had to occur.  For at the point I had to prove “in my head” that I would get the respect I deserved. Gaining respect or feeling one’s lost it is  why most of the fights at this “crazy business” occur many don’t end with punches but verbal abuse to the point as if it feels as if someone was knocked out.  Don’t get me wrong we’ve had our fist to fist fights as well with a few pieces of Oak added to the mix but this is the exception and not the rule. When physical fights have occurred there is usually blood and a hospital stay for those that lose but rarely do the police come unless it’s to place bets.

One fight occurred before we even entered the place and resulted in a temporary new entrance to our building.  In this fight a prostitute didn’t get paid for her “car service fee” so she decided to take it out on her customer while he was driving. Unfortunately the customer didn’t know where the brake was and smashed right into the store leaving a gaping hole in the side of our building as we started the day.   That fight proved that not only can people get hurt but buildings as well.

Parental Classes

family

Some of the most important classes are missed by most of us which  can effect our entire life and the one’s we hold closest. For although parenthood might be thrust on us when we least expect it or planned in advance how to deal with a newborn, adolescent and teenager is something most of us are not fully ready for.  Parenthood itself is a learning experience but some of the spills can be wiped up much faster if we learn in advance various techniques to clean the table in the first place. Classes should be taught in religious institutions for free (sponsored by children’s products) and be meant to provide insight from those with years of experience and knowledge of such subjects.   The older educated generation will provide knowledge that may not be accessible in the books of today and as such help new families build the cohesive loving unit that will be a blessing to the nation and world as a whole.

Moses & Drugs

straight jacket

I wonder how many prophets would be put on anti psychotic drugs and placed in mental hospitals to deal with their “delusions”,  if born today. Would they even be able to speak the words commanded or be called anti….?  Who would be willing to listen to an average “Joe” or “Chaim” who said that a holy spirit entered their body… maybe a good psychiatrist.   We can’t believe everyone who say’s G-D or an angel spoke to them but can we ignore them all?  How to determine that the voice they hear is not something in their own head but from a higher authority instead?  It’s not an easy answer to come to but I think we first have to listen not just to the words but who is saying them, how they are said and if they are based on the Torah/Bible truths we are know are to be true.  99.9 % maybe insane but all you need is .001 to change your life forever.

This movie stays in your head and leaves you thinking for many moons to come. Yet the trailer makes it more action packed then the actual visual content that is on the movie. Six Sense, Twelve Monkeys now Predestination is added to my list of films that add a new dimension to my thinking.
