The punishment’s written for acts of Blasphemy in the Torah/Bible may appear quite harsh (death) but when we look at the deeper meaning and the times the punishment appears to fit the crime. In the times that a blasphemer was put to death many conditions had to be met such as it had to be witnessed by several individuals who would become the executioners if the verdict was such and this was a time when those who were alive directly experienced the 10 commandments being given or their parents did. Today those that practice blasphemy appear to get away with it (except if your live under Sharia Law) with freedom of speech and religion (or non thereof) prevailing against the crime. Yet those that blasphemy become separated from G-D who created them. They may go through their existence just existing like a ghost unable to find the path that was meant for them. They may not literally be dead but without redemption and forgiveness their true path is covered and they wander the world searching in vain.
