I’ve often wondered what goes in the mindset of someone who steals from their own workplace. Stealing itself can only be justified when it is in an act against an evil regime such as the Nazi’s so how can someone justify stealing from the place they work at? Don’t they understand that their petty act not only can get them fired and lose all their other benefits (medical, pension, reputation etc) but hurts the entire culture of that work place? Where everybody has to look over their shoulder as suspicion runs rampant and monies drained from benefits are put into extra security measures. If they feel the work environment is wrong then shouldn’t they seek employment else where instead of hurt the employment of all those working there? These individuals who steal might believe they are stealing from “the man” but their acts truly hurt us all as they destroy a work environment based on trust and working together.
