Brilliant Words Never Heard

How many times have brilliant words been ignored by others because the words were spoken by someone who was political incorrect,  spoke with a different accent, from a different socially economical class or were from someone outside their cliche.  We are losing the voices that can truly make a difference because many aren’t willing to truly listen but only look. This can occur in a governmental institution, a business or even your local house of worship. Here are a few ways this can begin to change.

(1) Imagine that we don’t know the person speaking and that these are their first words spoken to you.

(2) Fully empathize with this person’s background before they speak so you can fully comprehend the thoughts behind the words.

(3) Insure that you don’t interrupt until their words are fully spoken.

(4)Ask questions relative to the points they are making instead of gotcha questions.

(5)Thank them for speaking their mind instead of hiding their thoughts and or gossiping.
