Kindness

kindness

Where does true kindness come from and how can we truly determine if we are such a person? It is easy to be polite and kind to those who share similar traits but how about those who have done you wrong can you express that love to them? Yet  where does the line of kindness end and being a sucker begin?

Maybe a little Bible/Torah story might help expound on this issue. It is said when a few of the Jewish people built the Golden Calf that G-D’s lovingly protective clouds were withdrawn. Yet what we discover is that these clouds weren’t withdrawn but the Jewish people felt such guilt from that sin that they felt undeserving of such protection and love. Those who committed the sin directly and were unrepentant were ultimately punished but the rest were shown true kindness. Then isn’t incumbent on us to be kind to those that have wronged us giving them the opportunity to seek forgiveness through word or deed rather then perpetrate the hate? If on the other hand if they continue down this path just remember G-D gave us only two cheeks and maybe it’s time to show them the hand instead.
