Short term media long term people

the truth

The media’s attention to a particular story is rather short term while the impact on the people is long term. This formula creates a disconnect and hostility between those writing the news and those living it in which neither side truly believes their story is being told.  A fine illustration of this is the Israeli Palestinian conflict where past conflicts and good will gestures get brushed aside to report the current conflict. It is important that people don’t live today based on what happened fifty or hundred years ago but being aware of history helps to insure that it doesn’t repeat itself in the future.  Here is a way(below) this can be solved.

(1) Actual clear facts of what is occurring on the ground.

(2) Followed by clear facts that can be substantiated and documented that occurred within the past week or so from both sides.

(3) A brief fact based history of how events in the past might have led to such a conflict today.

(4) Points of agreement between both sides if any can be found.
