wall street Journal

Today I decided to reflect on a few of the key articles of this weekend edition. I hope it will give you a unique perspective on some of the headlines.

(1) Few Iraqi’s are leaving for Jordan then others have during recent fighting. This is a good sign that Iraqi’s believe there is something worth fighting for.

(2) The U.S had a secret plan to help Iraq several months ago but it fizzled because of conflicts from both sides. If only each side thought of the consequences that non-action would bring.

(3) In April the United States had already a poor assessment of the Iraq military. Our Commander and Chief should have used this report to execute actions that would have prevented or lessened the bloodbath and the development of a terrorist state which we are currently occurring in Iraq.

(4) The Pope is visiting Mafia strongholds in Italy. This pope is a man of conviction who is willing to stand up to those values even at the cost of his own safety.

(5) Afghan has agreed to let the U.N. help with their election difficulties. Finally a good use of the U.N.

(6) The Argentina government paid for a full page ad in the Wall Street Journal claiming they want to pay back their debt but the courts have put in roadblocks to hamper this effort. Maybe they should have cancelled the advertisement and paid their bills instead.

(7) There are small venues for those who start up a career in “Professional Wrestling”. It’s like any art form you have to start at the bottom to get to the top and it hurts along the way.

(8) “The Giver” is relevant in today’s conversations  in which we are trying not to “hurt anyone’s feelings”. Maybe we should stop silencing ideas and thoughts and learn to express our differing views instead.

(9) Hollywood appears liberal except when it comes to corporate tax credits. In the end a good business person will always look for the route that produces the greatest capital return. I just hope they don’t forget who they stepped on along the way.

(10) The battle for the Mississippi  Republican race finally comes to close this Tuesday.  All I can say go McDaniel!

(11) Ron Paul fault hawks on Iraq war. Whether you agree or disagree with the Senator you must respect his candor.

(12) Spain has agreed to lower taxes. That’s just wonderful after raising them to record levels (sarcasm).

(13) Ukraine leader agrees to a  temporary ceasefire with Russian separatist. This might be a good political decision but a poor military decision.

(14) Iran can outsource completion of it’s nuclear weapons to North Korea. This is why isolation only brings larger more dangerous conflicts.

(15) P.R firms can arrange for you to spend a special private evening with a star for a hefty fee. I’m currently available for free, if you pay the tab.

(16) Apples Smart watch appears to be coming out in several months with some exciting new features.  I wonder how much those features will set back our bank account.

(17) Pork futures have risen over 50 % this year as it has become one of the hottest commodities growing. Maybe it’s time to become Kosher.

(18) Next week will mark the 100 anniversary of World War I a war that left immeasurable harm not just to the ones that fought it but even to the people who are alive today.  Let us learn from the many mistakes during this time period and pledge never to repeat them.
