Hardest Stage- NH Republican Debates

New Hampshire Republican Debate

There is no more difficult stage to be on then a Presidential Debate  where ever word (for some) is cut open as if was a lab experiment.   While Actors and musicians get plenty of do-overs and they study/ practice endless hours repeating the same lines that doesn’t occur when you’re in this situation.  Where fresh  spontaneous answers is expected time and again to questions you might not be fully prepared for.  Most reporters have their teleprompters or notes right in front of them so they can sound as if they were geniuses although they are really fancy actors instead.

There is no doubt Marco Rubio was the one under the knife last night and the media was ready to slice him up but is that truly the best way to judge a candidate on one nights performance ? Most in the media will agree that he has excelled in so many previous occasions on the debate stage and had some brilliant moments  last night as well? Shouldn’t we base instead on the overall package he/she has delivered throughout their career instead?  The question is how many of us would believe that was just if we were put in a similar situation?  I believe even “The Prosecutor” in New Jersey would not close all lanes to a great candidate who had one stumbling moment.  For we all should be tested over-time not just in a moment’s glance.

Care for others lose self or….

care for others care for elderly

It is the most important job we have as humans to take of each other but sometimes when we give so much we lose ourselves.  Of course we should be willing to sacrifice our time, monies and heart to help but we must leave our soul within.  Many of us spend  most of our time at work, helping our families, then getting involved in a community project only to have a few moments to discover what keeps that inner spark from sparking. Please don’t get me wrong there is a special happiness that can’t be achieved any other way then by giving of oneself yet if we don’t discover ourselves  we might not be able to receive the intensity of this emotion.   Therefore every once in awhile you need to have some extra me time to discover who you are and what keeps that inner candle burning even when there is know one around you to light the flame.

Government or Us

big governmentHelping the poor

We can either expect the government to take care of us as it takes more from us or we could decide to take of each other better.  Either we in our personal life take a greater responsibility for ourselves  and those around us or they’ll be a demand for others to do it causing us lose more freedom and hard-earned monies along the way. Government should be there to fill in the cracks but not create new ones because we want more from the “Nanny State”. When we allow government to take up our responsibilities it is done in a less efficient and more costly way even with the best of intentions because of the bureaucracy needed to be created even  to address the problem in the first place let alone run it to existance.  It is up to us to decide  what type of society we want not just from the words we  use but the actions we  take and if we take the right steps we’ll truly help those on the ground without moving us closer to it as well.

New Hampshire Primary-Jeb Bush-Great but…

Jeb Bush

I met Jeb Bush in New Hampshire today and I really like him yet I don’t believe he gives the G.O.P. the best chance to get back to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. He’s got an incredible record of conservative accomplishment along with a successful business career too bad those accomplishments can’t be shown on one’s face. He also is a very warm, friendly, funny, and kind in person but for some reason those qualities don’t seep through well on the big screen especially when there are six other people  on the stage.   As sad as it may seem accomplishments don’t get you to the White House otherwise  John Mccain would surely have been sitting there now.  Charisma is key and the ability to want to have a beer with that person across the television screen.  Those are 2 qualities that Jeb doesn’t have although in person I would gladly share a Bud with him. Individuals with conservative values must be willing to jump out of their comfortable chair to go and have that beer as they check off the right spot, while those with opposite views must believe the opponent doesn’t “look” so bad so they might as well stay home or even give him/her a shot.  I don’t believe Jeb Bush has that quality.  Just like a fine actor some people have and some don’t it is that special “um factor” that can’t be taught or learned it just is.  I’m truly sorry to say that I don’t see it in Jeb because he would make an excellent President as well.

Marco Rubio- Accusations?

Posted by Bruce - in Blog, Philosophy, Political - No Comments

Marco Rubio

Recently Governor Jeb Bush & Governor Chris Christie have made strong accusations against Marco Rubio in terms of his lack of accomplishments and of him repeating the same speech as if he was in a bubble. I was curious if there accusations were political spin or based on the  truth so I did a bit of research on my own.  In terms of political speech’s I’m sure that Marco has repeated the same lines at several formats  but as anyone in marketing will tell you that is to insure that emphasis is made on key points. I think Chris Christie (911 story) and Jeb Bush (I’m proud) as well as Donald Trump (make America Great) and Ted Cruz (Consistent Conservative) should look in the mirror before pointing it toward Marco on this point.

I believe it’s  important that a candidate be humble from where they come from and not just read his achievements in a boastful way yet the must have a record of successful. Here are a few of the achievements (below) that Marco Rubio has been successful in but doesn’t boast about it everyday, instead  looks to what he can achieve if he is blessed to live in 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. In conclusion I believe that Governor Christie and Governor Bush should do a bit more research before they make such accusations and this lack of work on their part hinders their Presidential aspirations.

(1) Added important additions to the  VA bill which Bernie Sanders opposed that woul allow top VA Managers to be fired for not doing their job.

(2) Fought for legislation to  sanction foreign banks that support Hezbollah (a terrorist organizations)

(3) Led an effort to put sanctions on the Venezuelan regime that has suppressed political opposition and basic human freedom.

(4) Fought to stop taxpayers monies going to fund insurer’s companies loss of income do to Obamacare.

(5) As Florida Speaker of the House met with the citizens and listened to their ideas for a better Florida which led to a 100 innovative ideas for Florida’s Future. Over 50 of these proposals became law.

Julian Assange – Wimp

Julian Assange

Julian Assange stop being such a wimp and face the music. If you did nothing wrong then stop hiding behind the Ecuadorean Embassy and face your accuser in a court of law. Sexual harassment has nothing to do with any political justice and if you’re innocent of that crime you’ll be set free.     I’m sure either way you’ll get the best lawyer possible for pro-bona and you’ll probably walk away like O.J so why not allow justice to work.  President Obama will probably pardon you  even if you’re found guilty of giving of national security leaks because those leaks helped him politically.   Everyone deserves their day in court especially those accused of crimes.

Live the Adventure!!!

Live the Adventure

We can get set in our sedimentary ways once that pattern appears to occur day after day that’s why it’s important to break free once in awhile and “LIVE THE ADVENTURE”.  Go on a trip where  you’re really not exactly sure what you’re going to see or even do. Try something brand new just to shake it up as long as it doesn’t shake your soul down.   Life is too short not to live the moments in between, even if it kills you at least you were alive during those moments.  Live the adventure for life is about living and sometimes it takes a step to the extreme to experience it.

Government Competitive Act

big governmentwaiting at the DMV

The Government Competitive Act needs to be passed no matter who moves to 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue. This act would demand that where-ever a governmental monopoly of services occur that this monopoly be broken up to allow competition in this marketplace with private industry competing making sure the citizen’s receive the best bang for their tax dollars. Of course there would be exceptions for national security type agencies.   A monopoly is bad in business because it doesn’t provide competition in the marketplace and leaves the consumer trapped behind only one poor option, that can continue to get worse without consequence then of course this is lousy for governmental service as well. Let’s free ourselves from this stranglehold by  pushing for the “Government Competitive Act” before it strangles us into just a bunch of bones unable to fight back.

Interesting Endorsements

Marco Rubio Rick Santorium

What can  one draw from the endorsements that occurred today. Rick Santorum is a social conservative who has served in the Senate and did very well in his previous run for the White House.  His strong hawkish views on foreign policy and economic populist message is something that resonated then. Mr. Santorum’s also pulled himself up from a blue collar background to be a successful in a blue state.  He lost in his reelection attempt as a Senator by taking a strong stance on the Iraq War even when it was an extremely unpopular position.   What do you conclude here.

Scott Brown came from a difficult background and was able to become a Senator in the blue state of Massachusetts .  He is a moderate Republican who has kept those views throughout his career. He lost his 2nd term as a Massachusetts Senator and then tried to run as a Senator from the neighboring state of New Hampshire. Scott Brown was unsuccessful in this attempt. What do you conclude here?

mirror lion     mirror 3

I’m about to go on a long road trip to explore the Presidential campaign first hand but before this begins I must explore myself.  Do I like myself enough to spend 4 1/2 hours alone in the car with me, myself and I? Of course I’ll be calling some friends/family along the way, listening to some radio shows which I hope to call in, and taking myself to a different world with my music but in the end it will just be me in this car.  Will I experience these moments alone as if I was a brave lion or will the mirror appear cracked with despair.  I’m pretty confident that the roar will come out with me for I have done many other things alone (see below) and have found out I’m not bad company for myself.  It’s important to enjoy yourself for if not who can truly enjoy you.

(1) Seen movies by myself

(2) Eaten at various restaurants alone

(3) Gone on vacations with know one initially around me.

(4) Explored my dreams.

(5) Studied for endless hours.
