Philosophy

Hillary Clinton has broken the glass ceiling but also the steel bars. It is not enough that she is the first woman to be nominated as a Presidential Candidate by the Democratic Party so she has decided to break a whole group of 1st categories. Here’s just the newest few (below) and one golden oldie.

(1) FBI INTERVIEW- Hillary Clinton is the first candidate to be interviewed by the FBI to determine if she committed a crime while running for the Presidential Office.

(2) FORGETFULNESS-  Hillary Clinton is the first Secretary of State who forgot that C stands for classified after serving in the White House under a previous administration.

(3) SIGNED AND LIED- Secretary of State Hillary Clinton is the first Secretary of State to sign that she received briefing on classified training and then told the FBI she doesn’t recall any briefing or training.

(4) LIED TO OPRAH – Most politicians have lied to the public and Hillary Clinton is a pro at that but Oprah Winfrey over having only 1 device. I’m sure the State Department has trained her to count to 13.

(5) OLDIE BUT GOODIE- Mrs. Clinton was able to turn an investment of $6300 (in which she had only $1000 in the bank at the time) in Cattle Futures into a $100,000 in less then 10 months due to advise from some friends. We can conclude she is the first Presidential Candidate to do such and to have friends in foundations that make sure the wealth continues.

It’s amazing how so much can be said without opening your mouth. Sometimes a loved one can read more in what you’re feeling by just a deeper look even if the words come out just “right”. Yesterday was such a day when me and my daughter communicated with what we saw instead of what we heard.  It was a special moment because we both felt sad about her departure to college and what lay ahead but neither wanted to actually say that for we didn’t want the other to worry. Eventually words were texted that spelled our feelings out better then if we had expressed it at the moment and the path seemed much clearer.  The truth is sometimes more is truly said in silence then in a spoken word.

There are eerie parallels between the argument for slavery and the argument for abortion. These arguments are basically over degrees not fundamental rights. Here’s how I see it (below) constructive comments are welcome.

1. PROPERTY- Although you might disagree with slavery/abortion shouldn’t a person be able to do what they want with their property/body?
2. NOT HUMAN- As sick as it may seem there was a time in our country where the courts determined that African American’s weren’t “human” and today they consider an unborn person in that same category.
3. NEED- People believed that society couldn’t function without slavery in the south  and today there are people who believe without the right to aborting unborn children that our society will collapse as well.
4. PLATFORM- The right to “own slaves” was a standard part of the Democratic Platform as the right to abortion is today.
5. BUSINESS-Slavery and Abortion are big businesses with smaller businesses profiting from the equipment needed to the training to actual performing the “work”.
6. DISTANCE- A slave owner was generally unconscious to the vile acts performed on his behalf by the slave hand who abused these individuals while a woman in unconscious as a doctor pulls out her unborn baby piece by piece.

Let’s face it a good ad can make you’re life a bit more EXCITING!  Whether it’s the actor getting a bit more excited drinking a soft drink then “normal people do” or a whole new way to look at your shaving creates Ads bring excitement to what could be a dull day.  They can make the products you use appear to be bigger then life and as result make them more enjoyable then they really should be.   Ads can make you feel as if your part of a whole exciting group or that you’re a unique wild and crazy person (even though you’re not the only Dr.)  A good AD can even brighten up a day and a smile for the real thing.

My definition of success depends a great deal on the independence you can achieve to get what you want in life but maybe it is only one spelling? For I’ve seen individuals who don’t have the financial resources to achieve that independence because of different choices they’ve made and they appear as happy if not happier. They spend more of their time hanging out with friends and enjoying what they can around them while I on the other hand work to keep or build on those items that supposedly will make me happier. These individuals may not have the means to go on different vacations or eat the highest quality food but they appear to get by from the generosity of others and some work ethic. A work ethic that says work as little as you can to enjoy the basics you and your friends need.  It’s not my cup of tea but maybe I should be drinking Pabst Blue Ribbon instead.

It may not be right but is it so wrong? Blaming the dog for eating your homework is only one excuse your 4 legged friend will take for you. How about coming in late for work because the dog wouldn’t move fast enough or having your room in disarray because “the dog did it”. The truth is you’re dog hasn’t the ability to change your story and who could truly get mad at a face like that (see above).  So your dog and you will be in the clear and who is really harmed except a little thing called the truth.
