Her beauty matches any Rose out there but don’t forget the pricks that can leave you in pain. For she is difficult to maintain and will wilt away if you don’t “properly take care of her”. Her beauty can last a lifetime but it’s tender to the touch as petals can dissipate between your eyes and heart. She is a rose and therefore it’ might be best to look from a distance then get too close.
It left me with an empty feeling that needed to be filled NOW! All I wanted to do was make some space and it worked maybe too well. For now my stomach said it’s time to eat and my mind followed suit. When the tank is empty because there is no gas in it then it’s time to refill.

ADD has reached epidemic conditions as this diagnosed is prevalent in our entire society. Young people appear not to have the ability to focus for long periods of time on anyone subject as they are easily distracted with the technology of the day. It is the Instant Gratification Syndrome where individuals flick through any experience that doesn’t immediately satisfy their interest whether it be the flick of a remote control with hundreds of channels, social network sites that come up with instant questions and answers or thumbing through a book instead absorbing it page by page. The solution is simple have teachers and parents work to insure that the young people actually read full books from start to finish, listen to albums of music instead of 1/2 of songs, sit through a film till the credits have finished running, go for regular extended hikes or observe a Shabbos type day even it’s just once a month instead of once a week. This future is now and only we have the power to change it’s result.
It’s hysterical where running for office while your paying our salary. That’s right you can be a Senator, Governor, Mayor and get paid for absolutely not doing your job. No, it’s not a vacation it’s better running for President. For you get to live on the taxpayers $$ and still keep the title and pay you had in your elected position while you spend all your time seeking a higher office. What a hysterical joke that only the taxpayers shouldn’t find funny at all.
I could have drove away but something called me back. I’m sure someone else could have been his savior and I was already late for work yet this day the papers would have to get thicker. Maybe it was his fragility or the way he appeared to hide in his shell that pulled me like a magnet back to the scene and caused me literally to pick him up off the ground. It was only a small act of kindness but for some reason I believe it might have just saved a life.
FOOTNOTE- The life I saved was one with 4 legs, a tail and usually a hard shell.
The celery rule is one I live with and try to pass it on to my children as well. It might be bizarre but if someone called you a piece of celery you would just conclude that person wasn’t all there and maybe his/her salad was a bit mixed up. In that same thought pattern why then should you accept what others say about you if it’s not mixed in your dressing. If they say your fat, ugly, gay, weird etc. think that they are calling you a piece of celery if this isn’t the least bit true. Of course if there are strands of truth to their statement then accept those strands and leave the rest to celery. Words can only hurt if there is a truth to them otherwise they are just celery.
In the end it doesn’t matter as much as where you’re starting as to whether your going in the same direction. This is the message of the Torah portion I read and one our leaders need to read as well. For the many tribes of Israel had there own look, function and different flag but they all new in the end their were all heading in the same path yet today that path has many cracks and potholes. Instead of trying to fix our roads with an infrastructure bill that we all can agree on they are thinking about the other I word which tears us and even our structures apart. G-D willing we will table the Mueller Report for awhile and read the good book instead as the people need a true path to walk and drive on.
Sometimes I feel as if I never got out of grammar school but this time instead of being the one who is being pushed I have to push and not in the physical way. For what seems obvious to get from one to three causes too many of the people I know to be stuck in 1. It’s a continuous battle to keep things moving forward because as I’m trying to move forward others just stand and look. These individuals say that they want more in their life but never put their foot down to make that occur. Pushing might appear rude but standing in my way is as well.

A father can bring their son to the sky or throw them down the ground but in the end it’s up to them to decide where they finally end up. I’m reading about a son who’s father was a gangster and how he followed in his blood steps and initially I felt that was where the blood was flowing so what choice did he have? Until I looked at others who decided to walk in a different path, from the son of Minister who becomes addicted to the wild life to the one who takes up the ministry even though his father never walked through a church. I personally often walk in a similar path as my father but on different steps that he might feel are a bit too dangerous. There is no doubt our father’s have a great influence on who we are yet we are the one’s who ultimate decide to look in their mirror or find our own look.
