This has got to be the most bizarre ad campaign of our times? What advertising genius would think that it makes sense to put a sweatshirt that reads “coolest monkey in the jungle” on a young African American boy?  Did they believe someone would find this hip or funny?   Just curious how many people (maybe monkeys) were involved in thinking through this brainless act? The only way they could make this worse for themselves is if the boy was holding a banana.  H&M sure got the attention but you can bet it’s stock will feel the pinch.

Yet one act of even grand stupidity shouldn’t permanently damaged where thousands of people are working and up to now had quality clothes and image. They slipped on the peel but let’s let the monkeys at H&M who thought of this campaign slip into the jungle for the good of the rest of the people who work there.

When a loved one suffers from untreated or mistreated mental health issues the effects can cause others to come down with some of the symptoms. When you are constantly exposed to explosions over minor triggers it can one to feel as if they must walk on eggshells even when they aren’t with said individual. This creates a bit of paranoid feeling and even depression if this pattern continues on a regular basis. Therefore it is important that those caught in such situations whether it be due to a child, spouse or friend seek professional help to better understand and cope with what they are experiencing.  For mental illness can truly become contagious if you don’t take of yourself as well.

The tyrants of today appear to be more brutal then those with dictatorial positions of the past.  Where the Philippines, Haiti, Soviet Union as well as Kings and Queens of the past have given up power when the people have risen up today they are willing to murder thousands to hold on to power. Tyrants from Syria, Iran, Venezuela & North Korea truly don’t care how much blood is spilled as long as they continue to grab the power ring.  The truth also is the world doesn’t appear to care as much as well, with little said when these oppressors go on their killing ways.  After the collapse of the Soviet Union many believed the time of the Tyrant would come to an end but without the world watching it continues to thrive and kill again.

Did Oprah Winfrey open up her Presidential aspiration as she spoke after winning the Cecil B. DeMille award at the Golden Globes? It sure sounded more like a political speech then one for an award for her talents, with all the political rhetoric one would expect from someone seeking such a position. The speech was also perfectly timed for a prime time audience that could build on such political aspirations should they be real. Let’s face it she has great face recognition, has many different life experiences, is a great business woman and has phenomenal communications skills so why wouldn’t she consider running in today’s times?  Just be weary Mrs. Winfrey politics is even a dirty game then entertainment and being nice might leave you looking for a different type of work which Mr. Rubio can attest to this fact. Opray Winfrey 2020 or just a look at what could be?

In life you are often forced into lessons that you should have taken in school and for me today it was basic plumbing (very basic).  When the kitchen sink wouldn’t turn on I knew something was wrong but didn’t realize a hair dryer would come to the rescue. Here are a few tidbits (below) that I learned from this experience and by my very talented plumber.

(1) If it’s very cold outside let your water run especially the hot water side. I know your water bill might be a bit more to do this work but it’s less expensive then having the plumber visit.

(2) Hair Dryers do a great job warming a cold pipe if you can find where the frozen section actually is.

(3) Turning your shut off valve all the way to the right stops the water flow and turning it to the left opens it up.

(4) Even if you have a frozen pipe you won’t have to worry about any leaks as long as your faucets are open.

FOOTNOTE- Please don’t take my advise as gospel on this subject matter for I am still a plumbing 101 student who hasn’t passed his 1st test.

This should have been the fate of my cell but instead a miracle of cell phone proportions occurred.  First I had dropped my phone outside in the bitter cold and couldn’t find it till it was covered in snow trying to retrieve my call as it shivered back to life. Then that same day in the more extreme bitter cold I ran to put my groceries in the car and as I was returning home I noticed my cell phone was no where to be found. I drove back to the grocery store and tried to find the same spot I was previously at to park. Then I proceeded to open the door but before I actually did I thorough investigation I found my cell phone inches from my door.  It was so close that if I didn’t park exactly where I did it would have been crushed by feet or worse yet tire power.  For those who don’t believe this was just a lucky coincidence but for the faithful it was another color on a painting that many never really look at until it’s too late.

We often hear stories about the children of celebrities and wonder about the difficulty of living in their shadows but how about siblings. Jerry Van Dyke was an example of one who portrayed it well. He never had the list of hits that his brother Dick did but he had a great character that allowed him to make it in his own way.  Success can be spelled with $$ and fame but if it is spelled in character Jerry is one name people should remember. RIP Jerry Van Dyke.

I’m the drop that some disregard before it’s truly empty but could leave a stain all day long.  The drop that might be the last you have in your mouth for hours or on other parts of your body.  So before I’m disregarded as just another think about what you might be missing or adding if that was to occur.  For every drop counts especially the last one.
