How do we judge great actors and those that lack such talent? We can see one scene(see below) but is that truly a fair judge? Here are the criteria (below) I believe one should utilize to determine if an individual truly is a great actor/actress.
(1) VERSATILITY- An actor/actress should be able to play various different roles and take the audience with him/her as if they were a new person.
(2) BAD FILMS- Talent will be easier to discover when a poor film is made. They will be the bright spotlight where darkness will appear elsewhere on the screen.
(3) EMPATHY- Those who have incredible talent can create empathy for their character even if the script appears not to let them.
(4) MOMENTS- They create moments that hold the viewer past the titles at the end of the script.
(5) WORKS- It is not one film/show that will judge whether someone is talented but their body of work and even their poor performances due to poor direction will still leave them with a winning batting average that would make any baseball player jealous.
