Chipotle -New E’Coli – Organic Foods

Chipotle outbreak has now effected people in six states and people have to wonder if this mass produced “mostly organic” restaurant is the best business model.  For a recent study has shown “organic food”  has a 9.7 present ratio of E’Colio while conventional food only has 1.6 ratio, couple that with selling this food in a quick mass produced environment around the country/world and you can see how this sickness could easily spread. We must realize what organic food uses to fertilize the ground and how that can impact what we actually eat if not vetted well.  The Mayo Clinic has listed several ways to help prevent this sickness (below) and Chipotle will have to do a better job insuring that these steps are taken if they are to continue their road to success. Yet maybe our push to Organic should be washed/watched more carefully as a whole before we say how much better it is for the general public.

(1)  Wash raw produce thoroughly

(2)Wash utensils with hot soapy water before and after they come into contact with fresh produce or raw meat.

(3) Keep raw vegetable and meat separate (no integration here).

(4) Wash your hands thoroughly especially after using the lavatory (bathroom)

(5) Meat should be cooked to 160 degrees at it’s thickest part.
