Political Junkie

political junkie

My name is Bud and I’m a political junkie.  It all started at the age of 8 when I felt a certain sadness as the adults around me cheered the resignation of President Richard Nixon.  I don’t remember falling to hard for President Ford but I definitely felt the malaise as Jimmy Carter came to the Oval Office. I still remember staying up every night to watch Nightline and see how many days are citizens were being kept hostage in Iran. My political action started shorted afterwards (see below) and although their are times I promised to get off this drug it has truly kept my glued my entire life.

(1) My first campaign activism was for Assemblyman Yevoli. He was the first and last Democrat that I actively supported.

(2) My first political speech came during the anniversary of the Kennedy Administration where my long speech to Newsday was cut to one sentence, ” He was young, good looking and got shot that’s why he why was so popular”.

(3) The first campaign I ran for was as my class President where I promised a whaling party at my house if I won. This was one election where even the dead bodies couldn’t put me over the top and I believe my parents were very happy with the loss.

(4)Reagan Bush campaign put my in to full political throttle. As I started Student’s for Reagan Bush and Young Republican’s at SUNY Albany. My activism though was burned out by those that were more interested in politics then political change.

(5) When I attended Bryant University I made my first promise to take a break from the political world but Amy Carter’s visit to our school and her support of the Sandinistas in Nicaragua abruptly ended that break.  I started the Young Republican’s at Bryant University and had a Conservative Column in the local school paper.

(6) Graduation lead me to NYC and getting involved in the Young Republican Club of NYC. Within a year or so I became President of this club but do to heinous acts of certain individuals my desire in politics soon faded away.

(7) It wasn’t until the Tea Party grew that the fire  reignited  in me. I formed two different Tea Party groups and started to attend political action training groups. I even ran for the school board with more support then I expected.

(8) Today those Tea Party groups have dissipated but I continue to be glued to the networks coverage of the political races, donate monies to the campaigns, write articles in local papers,  and am taking a whole new look on how I might get involved.

Today I can openly say I’m a Political Junkie and this is one addiction I don’t think I will quit in this lifetime.  For through political change I still believe we can make this world a better place for us all.

Business Foundation

principles

If I was the CEO of a company their are certain business foundations/principles that would be the blueprint . These would be ways to insure that individuals who worked for my company would perform at the highest level, receive just compensation and allow the business to continue to expand. Here are a few of these key foundations.

(1) INDIVIDUAL RESPONSIBILITY- Key individuals would be in charge of running certain areas of the business with clear direction of the goals that these department needs to achieve. If they exceed the goals they and their team below would share in the reward if they failed they would be terminated from their position.

(2) MEETINGS- There would be set meeting times to see if the various departments are achieving their goals and if not how other departments and individuals can help them be more successful.

(3)RESPECT-When someone suggests an idea or way to improve the business the initial response will always be positive (Example- Thank you for the time and effort). Then their would be further discussion of the idea and it’s positive and negative implications.  Finally there would be an effort to implement in the idea with the creator being in charge even if it’s at a sketch level.

(4) FUN-  It is incumbent that we find ways to make our work performance not become to routine and implement ways for it to be fun as well. These fun activities would enhance work performance by making the whole process more enjoyable.

Biblical Truths

trugh

There are many who claim that the Bible/Torah is a fabrication of various stories but if that was true then how could it be the greatest predicator of some basic truths that we hold today.  Here are just two that stand out in my mind.

(1) G-D tells Abraham that his offspring will be descendants of many powerful nations. Today Christians, Jews and Muslims all accept that their faiths start with the Abraham. What makes this so significant is that in between that time their could have been a Sam, Larry, or Lisa who said they spoke to the Divine One and created a different major faith but this has never occurred.

(2) The bible tells us that the Jews will be dispersed around the world and then return back to their holy land Israel.  History shows this occurring to the T.  The Jews could have been dispersed after being conquered to one or two countries but instead we can see that after the 2nd Temple was destroyed they we moved to lands around the world.

I would showcase more biblical truths by truthfully I have to go to work shortly

Annoying to start great to finish

QUESTION

It is one of the most annoying tasks to start but when you’ve finished you feel great.  It gives you extra space that you never knew you had and helps you find items that you never knew existed.  This task may take hours or days but when you’re done you truly can see a difference – WHAT IS THIS TASK

Best when busy

car race

KEEP GOING IT’S JUST A FEW SPARKS

My mind and body are best when I’m in full throttle. I love the time when my multi-task button is running full steam ahead. These times can be quite exhausting but it also is exhilarating as little tasks are completed in seconds rather then hours. I know just like any machine there needs to be cool down and maintenance times but let those moments be short because this engine wants to keep moving.  The only problem is that when you go at full speed sometimes you forget to look for the cliff up ahead or the bumps that damage the inside. G-D willing that cliff won’t be coming any time soon and those bumps well I’ll just have to absorb them and keep on rocketing forward.

Conservativism & Culture

As I watched the CMA awards last night I realized that the liberal agenda has finally seeped through our entire culture.   This agenda seeped through the country world with   a happy little song that won song of the year “Follow Your Heart” by Kacey Musgrave. A song that tells the listener to follow their heart not their soul when looking for life’s enjoyments wherever they might lead and clearly points that arrow to acts of homosexuality among other liberal references. This campaign is brilliant because it has seeped through every form of music and entertainment even to the sports we watch.   Initially it was very direct and in your face as shown in many Broadway shows but then the message came through with little references on T.V. and musical performances with just enough a message to leave a slight imprint but not enough to turn off the record or televison show. It’s time an alternate pro-family, pro 2nd amendment, pro-life message, pro business conservative message learns to seep through as well. Here are some of the steps that can be taken.

(1) Support artists that come out of the armoire and state their conservative views in any  activity even if you disagree with their other views (for example Madonna has stated pro-gun & pro-life views)

(2) Collectively purchase (or support) a music studio/film studio that produces various music with different messages including some that might even have a conservative view.

(3) Open doors to different people that share many of your views but don’t fit the mold of what “we’re supposed to look like”.

Faith Network

networks

ADD ONE MORE CHANNEL THAT HAS A HIGHER AUTHORITY

A network that brings together various people from different faiths with shows that are interesting, entertaining, thought provoking  but not over the top.  Shows that include political discussions with religious perspectives, mysteries that could have a biblical implication and comedies that whole families can laugh at. It’s time there’s a network that combines great entertainment with great faiths.

Work Alcholic Times- A Bud Reflection

business running

There are times in my life when I might have gone over the edge committed to a work assignments here are a few of those examples (below).

(1) After facing an extremely bureaucratic banking representative I banged my hand on a wooden briefcase which left my hand a bit cut up. I placed some band aids on my hands and continued my work assignment for several hours longer  as  blood continued leaking through my bandages. When my assignments were complete I went to the hospital and was assigned sixteen stitches and a nice scar on my hand.

(2) Working on one scene from “ASU” took 25 hours straight.

(3) For several months I came into work an extra hour or two early to computerize the entire inventory of my business.

(4) The birth of my son allowed me a few hours to drop off a bid for my business.

(5) I risked my life several times as I’ve driven through hurricanes, blizzards and other natural disasters to get to work.

Tighter bankruptcy laws

bankruptcy

It’s extremely important to  enable those who have suffered economic ruin an avenue out through bankruptcy but today many of those with means use the bankruptcy laws to defraud the less fortunate. Therefore we must insure that greater responsibility is put on those that seek bankruptcy protection. This could occur by having those who seek this protection having to pay their creditor a small amount but over a longer period of time or by services this debtor can perform to the creditor for free or at a nominal cost. It also can be a combination of the two remedies. This way we will insure that those who seek bankruptcy protection truly need it and give better protection to the creditor as a whole.

Elephants

The Republicans had a great night excluding my state of NY ( and other liberal bastions) and my specific house district. It’s incredible to be in the one area of the country where Elephants aren’t allowed (there are plenty of Donkey’s here). G-D willing Elephants will become louder and prouder and soon the stampede will enter NY as well.

Specifications for Republican wins in House (excluding my district)
