I lurk in your shadow waiting for my moment to take it away. Pretending to be your ally as you move up the ladder only to knock you down just as you climb the last step. For, you foolishly have trusted me with all your secrets and when the time is just right well they might “accidentally” leak out.  I also know your weaknesses better than yourself and let’s just say “accidents” can happen on purpose.  You worried so much about the haters far from you that you forgot to look for the one who clings to your mirror.

FOOTNOTE-   You in the shadow realize though that Karma is a bitch +, especially for one that cling to a higher authority.

It’s not the one’s that are open to us but the one’s who lurk in the shadow. These are the haters that are actually closest to us that bring us the most harm. They may pretend to be loved ones but are full of rage and jealousy that boils to the surface once an opportunity opens to them. They maybe even one’s that have moved up with you so when you get to the top they can stab you right in the back and claim the throne. Korah from the bible was such a challenge and he was destine not for greatness but divine intervention. G-D willing those enemies closest to you realize when their time is up and move away before a Korah faith faces them.

It was another form that I just signed away for who has time to read the fine print or for that matter any of the print. This was only for a doctors visit so I was sure it was for the “good” and I’m no lawyer or even para-legal so the pen came out.  Sign here sign there blah, blah and I just went ahead like a fool.  A fool that noticed that maybe this wasn’t the doctor I should have visited for after the last signature it suddenly became hot very much so.  It’s too late for M-E but for Y-O-U maybe it isn’t such a good idea to just sign…maybe?

First of all from any perspective “Jesus Revolution” is a good movie. It offers a fresh new perspective to faith and our desire as humans to find a deeper meaning in life and still is enjoyable to watch. Not an easy chore especially to one of a differing faith. Yes, Jesus is mentioned many more times than my Rabbi would like but the idea that faith should bring everyone in no matter the steps they’ve taken before should be universal.  That maybe we really should walk in another’s path before we pass judgement even if that path is barefoot is another universal path we all could get behind. Maybe we don’t have to modify our basic service but find more unique ways to reach those that are lost in it.   The Jesus Revolution has such a universal theme that even those who follow from a different faith can get behind and for that I say “Amen”.

With the rise of the negative perception of dear old dad can one still say “Happy Father’s Day”?  Many of the “educated elite” complain about the harm the patriarchal society has done for society but for us on the ground we realize the importance of fatherhood, especially for those who have lost this truly special loved one. Many a father has not been educated in this role but have performed as if they graduated Cum Laude. They have stood by their family through thick and thin not only bringing home the Bacon/Bagels but the love, fun and wisdom one can’t get from any a textbook. So Happy Father’s Day to all those who’ve earned this title you earned this special day even if society isn’t bringing out as many Hallmark cards as it did before.
