Miosotis Familia should have been home with his family today instead of leaving them before his time due to a criminal justice system which had an open revolving door. A door which left a man unworthy of naming go out and assassinate this Police Officer/Peace Officer without any provocation. This thug had a criminal record which included assaulting another officer with brass knuckles, so how was he allowed on our streets without supervision? I understand people who “serve their time” have a chance to redeem themselves in society but not without clear and present supervision. Let Miosotis Familia passing not go in vain as we take better steps to insure those with a criminal history of violence are vetted better before walking our streets. May Miositis Familia RIP and let his loved one’s know that he died trying to do the right thing.
