I’m amazed at how many people don’t want to know why? They will ridicule an individual for their customs, faith, or even the art they produce without the littlest inclination of why they do what they do. Is it because they fear the why will make them have to change their own way of life, that they feel they will be lectured too or is it simple they don’t care that they allow their ears and mind to remain shut? Maybe it’s just because we feel we don’t have the time to listen with more important mundane activities to perform. Yet what happens if we took one hand off our ear and truly gave them five minutes of our time. It might not change our opinion on this way of life but maybe just maybe we could appreciate their point of view and respect them more as an individual.
