“BIRDMAN” won best picture of the year and I feel like I’m eating crow. This was a movie without a point/beak. There were definitely some fine performances but best picture of the year come on have the Oscars flown the coop. I apology for all the bird references but at least I’m going somewhere with this piece unlike “Birdman” which went know where. Maybe I don’t understand the artistic principles involved in it but maybe I’m supposed to go to a movie to be entertained and feel like there was a point in blowing over 2 hours of my time. “BIRDMAN” deserved best picture and pigeon tastes like caviar.
P.S. I’m very happy that J.K Simmons won best supporting actor in Whiplash. He not only deserved for his powerful performance but gave a moving acceptance speech as well.
