Survival and…

preppers

I know I want to develop the skills to survive but while I’m learning about those skills I would like the basics that I survive on today. WHAT WOULD YOU CONSIDER YOUR BASICS? Here are just a few of the items I would add to the list (in order).

1. Electricity

2. Hot Shower

3. Chocolate

4. Computer

5. T.V. – If just for a few news shows, the football season a movie… Heck I like the T.V.

6. Decent Heat and Air Condition

7. Dog

To Survive!

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SURVIVE?

We all know the basics food, water and shelter but what happens if these and other items we consider necessary become difficult to obtain in the marketplace how could you make it?  Do you have the skills to turn a plant into a first aid kit? Would you be able to truly know what mushrooms you can eat and which ones will just take you to a different place?

This is one of the prime goals of “Preppers Paradise” .   We want to teach our club members the basic skills needed to make it through any storm in an environment that is nurturing and fun.  “Preppers Paradise” is not just a place but something you hold onto for the rest of your life.

Dressed for success

dressed for success

It came as a shock to me that what you wear and how you wear it can say more to others then what actually comes out of your mouth. It’s truly impossible to ignore the first impression and no matter how brilliant you might sound that polka dot tie makes you seem like a clown.  It’s not like you must wear a suit in tie at every occasion( it looks silly at a rock concert) but knowing what to wear and when to wear it can make all the difference in the world.

You can still have your individuality but that doesn’t mean you wear white in winter (almond will do just fine).  I’ve personally decide not to over budget for my attire but that doesn’t mean I can’t find a way to look sharp. It just means I have to think twice about what I’m working with.  Clothes doesn’t make the man or woman but it definitely can’t hurt

Outside looking in

ouside looking in

Yesterday when I went to the gym all my insecurities from the past came back in a moments notice.  It was the cool tough cliche at the gym hanging out and when I tried to my comments about their conversation I felt like they became deaf. This reminded me of the times in glorious High School where I would continually worry if someone would sit with me at lunch or face the shame of sitting alone.

It also led me to my realization that although I might belong to a group I still might feel like I’m outside looking in.  I had a dream that symbolized this feeling as I kept walking around and around a restaurant never to find the entrance while watching everyone else have fun. I’ve belonged to many groups and even started groups, at times I truly felt like I belonged but other times my individual spirit wouldn’t let me get any closer. In the end I guess it is a feeling we all have but if we are closer to the divine source we are truly never alone.
