Most types peace in someway is the answer but there are also times when the “enemy” truly has to be eliminated and this Torah portion gives such an example. Times of patience are called for because many times we are attacked by others in words and even deeds for some provocation that we might have not even considered on any radar. One might have to put up a defense and even slight office depending on how big a reaction occurs but our goal is to live in peace afterwards. Yet when attacked for no logically reason such as Israel has been by Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis well then that’s entirely a different story. Just as an assassin needs to be eliminated so should those who attack without any provocation. G-D willing they’ll be a time when these conditions don’t exist but until that time true evil must be eliminated from this earth.

Due to personal reasons I have not been able to study the RNC 2024 convention as much as ones in the past but within those limited hours somethings have stood out in my mind. Here are a few moments that I have somehow held onto longer then others.

(1) Vivek Ramaswamy gave such an awesome speech with remarks that were actually funny.

(2) Peter Navarro served up the red meat and had a damn good reason to do so.

(3) Shabbos Kestenbaum speech made me so proud to be a Jewish Republican.

(4) The Gold Star Family remarks and video brought tears to my eyes.

(5) World War II veteran William Pekrul made me want to fight for my country when I turn 98 as well and the moving of the microphone was hysterical.

(6) Donald J Trump Jr speech made understand who really has Donald Trumps good ear (sorry bad joke). He really is a great speaker.

(7) Usha Vance showed that sometimes getting a stylish haircut can get in the way.

(8) JD Vance was best when he touched on his personal life especially his mother and Mamaw.

(9) Kai Trump showed how a grand daughter can personalize Donald Trump in a way nobody else could.

(10) Pastor Lorenzo Sewell gave the type of fiery speech you would find in your greatest gospel church

(11) Tucker Carlson was authentically honest and funny.

(12) Hulk Hogan ripped off any semblance of a standard RNC Convention and his shirt as well.

(13) Eric Trump showed that Donald Trump Jr has true competition in any public speaking forum.

(14) Donald Trumps speech is still being watched today sorry 11 PM is too late for my brain.

Starting out poor has some advantages to those that have the means. For, as one that doesn’t have much I have so much more to shoot for. Every bit **extra** means so much more to M-E then those with means because of what was on my plate the meal before. I honestly don’t have time to complain as the work I do is  not for my lifestyle but my basic existence. There is no room for depression, anxiety or any other mental illness as time must be spent just to keep me afloat.  New technologies might be hard to come by but the beauty of what is truly around me is so much more profound.  Don’t get me wrong I’d love to walk in your shoes any day (they seem a whole lot more comfortable) yet being one without allows me to truly appreciate so much more of what little I have now.

I’m forgiving Y-O-U even though you never asked for it. Honestly, it’s mostly for  M-E since being angry wastes too much time and energy.  Yet before you add this to your score card this doesn’t mean I forget. I’ll hold onto what you said/done so I don’t feel prey to your attack next time. It just means that I can move on without worrying about you truly saying and meaning those two special words “I’m Sorry”.  Of course if those words are actually said well maybe I won’t remember so quickly what you said and did in the first place.  Otherwise I forgive you and it feels a whole lot better then not too.

Donald Trump showed how brave he was again by picking JD Vance as his running mate.  JD was as big of supporter in Donald Trump as sleepy eye is today. Yet, just as wine gets good with age so has JD. He has learned the truth behind the media distortion and took off his Never Trumper outfit to be his star supporter today. JD Vance has also said many a controversial remark in the recent past yet that didn’t appear to affect Trumps choice. Don’t get me wrong,  JD came from one of the most difficult backgrounds and truly earned his way to the top but to forgive and forget is not easy. I probably would have chosen someone from a different culture or sex but Donald Trump showed a whole new kind of bravery by truly letting bygones be gone with JD Vance.

Megan Moroney song “Indifferent” sings many of our songs..  The song deals with the issue of letting things go but the difficult of actually doing so even as one might say so. For, as one says they really don’t care they are still speaking. As the temperature rises in the song we can feel that vibe hit our own heart.  It’s a reality song that is all to real for many a soul.  So congrats to Megan Moroney with a song that we are definitely not indifferent to listening to.

I will not engage in any negative talk that assaults my character.  Yes, I may mistakes and will acknowledge them but that shouldn’t be an attack on the person that I am or the creative pursuits I seek to accomplish.  I can’t stop you from thinking what dwells in your head but that doesn’t mean I have to hear it come from the lips of someone I’ve had tried to help like no other. I will not stand idly by and be your punching bag again.  There is always a place to escape if that assault occurs and I’m determined to find it rather then hear these hurtful lies beyond an emotional rant.

FOOTNOTE- Now the hard part taking these words and letting them walk through my actual steps.

Sometime a song is your emotional bullseye , “Not Today” was such a song that hit my  target. It spoke to the feeling that were deep inside and opened a door into my own soul. Mitchell Tenpenny I’m sure wasn’t thinking about me when the lyrics came through but that’s the beauty of art you never know who it hits and the great impact it  can truly have. Thank you Mr. Tenpenny for being their with a song that expressed my moment so poignantly.

In the coming days we will discover more facts pertaining to the assassination attempt of President Donald J Trump but here are some facts right now that we know.

(1) Toughness- President Trump is truly a strong person who is willing to get up in the face of anyone or anything.

(2) Human- The Secret Service are just human and that means they are prone to error as is what happened last night.

(3) Innocent- Though President Trump survived the attack one of his supporters died from this vile attack.

(4) Safety-  If the police and secret service can’t secure a location is there anyplace that is truly safe?

(5) RFJ-  Will he now receive secret service protection as a candidate for the Presidency?

(6) Unity Minute- How long can we stand united against this awful attack before politics takes over.

(7) Inch- One inch in either direction could changed this narrative from an attempt to an assassination. G-D has a plan and it’s measured in inches. We need to enjoy them moment by moment.
