The shooting in Minneapolis was a tragedy. Anytime a person is killed except in the most extreme circumstances of pure self defense by a law enforcement agency it is such. Here (below) are other points to consider.
(1) One must comply with orders from a law enforcement agency if they believe they are wrong.
(2) Officers should not put themselves in a risky position which could result in an unfortunate incident whenever possible. Therefore the ICE official should probably not have been in front of the car during the confrontation.
(3) Mental health professionals should be part of a team when there appears to be an episode that could “explode”
(4) People shouldn’t continually harass law enforcement officials without expecting there to be consequences. They might be professional but they are also human.
(5) Law Enforcement officials who have had a traumatic event occur should receive counseling and needed time before they are put in a risky situation.
