My empathetic reaction might not be based on the logic I hold so dear. For certain people in different situations have me grabbing hold of them longer then others. Those who suffer from bouts of mental health issues that I personally have not been involved cause me to be especially concerned. Yet when I witness such episodes first hand my empathetic reaction might be to those who are exposed to this individual. I also am more empathetic to children and senior citizens then those who in-between the years to make “good decisions”. Individuals who have dealt with struggles I have faced also have another face to look at with empathetic eye. Finally my empathy is given first hand if in some way I was personally responsible for the pain someone is in. Even if it was a suggestion gone awry it still makes me want to right this ASAP. Empathy isn’t always fair or just it’s just part of who we are and who I am.
