Dear Fellow American’s I would not be performing my constitutional duties to defend and protect the United States if I didn’t make the following statement. I understand that in a democracy it is important to have diversity of opinion but when one uses the forces not put in the constitution to resist the basic survival of such a government then changes must be adopted. Therefore I’ve asked that Senate leadership to reinstate a 50 vote threshold within 72 hours if no agreement can be made to fund our basic functions of government. I hope that this measure will not be needed again but government must and should function not for the good of any party but the country as a whole.
