How do you deal with pain physical, mental/emotional or interpersonal helps determine the outcome of the cards you are dealt. For no matter the form pain must be coped with in the same formula (below).

(1) IDENTIFY- This isn’t as easy as it might seem for the main culprit of pain is hidden deep in layers below the surface.

(2) DISTRACT- Sometimes it’s impossible to escape the pain initially so you must have some distraction to it. Whether it be through the arts (music, drawing, writing) exercise, or leaving even for the moment the location it’s time for you to feel a bit better if just then.

(3) LESSON- There are ways you can learn to manage the pain when it is in full force and those can be taught be professionals in the field.  They include deep breathing exercises, meditation and prayers that help you keep your focus on the big picture.

(4) CHALLENGE- Consider it part of the challenge to where you’re going or how you got there and plan to conquer like a mountain step by step or breath by breath.
