It’s never worked when speaking to another person but might be a mantra for oneself. When someone says “Calm Down” have you ever heard anyone respond “that’s a good idea” or “I never thought about that”? If there is any response it’s usually the opposite of what we want such as “You want me to calm down!!!” or a not such a nice four lettered response (sometimes one finger will do). I don’t know who invented these words maybe someone who wanted to prove everyone is crazy. It should actually be used at a ballgame or concert to get everyone riled up. So the next time you’re ready to say those two dreaded words remember you’re messing with fire and you just through in the matches.
