Amadeo Modigliani “Reclining Nude” fetched $170 Million at the Christie’s Auction but what did this model and his other models get in return? I’m sure many of these models felt that they were being painted by the “brilliant artist” and that their image would last a lifetime but if they knew $170 million dollars I’m sure they would have asked for a few more dollars as well. They might have believed their image would be seen by a few in the art community but not by the millions that have seen it now. May this be a lesson to us all if you are going to appear naked in public make sure you have a good lawyer and agent behind you.
