A maze is defined as being confused and truly not knowing which way to go. In life when things are going fine we can become complacent and not be willing to take the risks to move ahead but that also can occur when things are going poorly as artistically shown in “The Maze Runner” (review below) where fear of the unknown and the consequences they can bring truly stifles anyone to change. This movies helped me understand why those who are suffering would rather suffer then risk losing it all. Is it better to be eat corn in the dirt then be buried in it? Would you be willing to swim in the water even though it is getting hot or would you dare jump out and risk sudden death? For the first time I truly understood the dilemma of those who went through the Holocaust who probably thought it is better to survive the day then fight and die a useless battle. I wonder if push comes to shove who truly would be so brave?
*** 1/2 The Maze Runner is one of the exciting though provoking movies of the year. It deals with issues such leadership, risk aversion in a dramatic fashion. Their is fine acting and cinematographer although the screen gets a bit jumpy at parts. The only major flaw was the ending appeared rushed and needed more flushing out. I guess will discover more in the sequel which I’ll be waiting to see.
