In the movie and book the “Great Gatsby” Jay Gatsby had a committed, romantic and unconditional love to Daisy Buchanan while Daisy was only romantically in love with Mr. Gatsby. Mr. Gatsby’s love blinded him from seeing the different feelings and commitment Daisy was able to offer and truly led to his demise. This story’s message is relevant in all relationships because it’s important that both sides share the same love for each other or commitments will be hard to keep. It is true on the other hand that in some relationships the love one expresses for the other might truly be different but like an equation it should add up to a 10 or 9 1/2. Both individuals in such a relationship should explore the love they have for each other and accept that this might be all they’ll ever receive. If that is acceptable then the relationship should continue if not it’s important to end it and move on.
