One Tear

one tear

My love shed that one tear for the pain you feel in your heart. For the despair of rejection, ridicule or failure that won’t go away. Do not let that one tear join many tears as a floodgate of dreams dissipating.  Let that one tear instead be firmly planted in the ground and help grow a new dream or outlook that is brighter then the one before.

Wall Street Journal Weekend Edition- 3/15/15- Lessons

WALL STREET JOURNAL 2   RAISING HAND 2

If I was still in school and my teacher asked us to tell him/her the 7 facts I learned from this reading of this weekends edition of  “The Wall Street Journal” and the questions they left me this is how (below) I would respond. .

(1) The statistics might say that people are spending more monies on restaurants then home cooking but those statistics don’t take into account purchases from Wall Mart and other larger retailers.  It makes me wonder how many others stats are faulty and if so what’s the point of listening to them?

(2) Cross Fit Training is becoming a more popular way of working out.  I wonder if they offer this form of training at my gym?

(3) Bill & Hillary Clinton have earned $25 million in speakers fees this year.  What do those who paid these fees expect in return from the Clinton’s for their extremely generous pay days?

(4) China is the holder of more U.S debt then any other nation but a month ago Japan claimed that prize.  How much of our debt is owed to foreign entities and how does that sway our foreign policy decisions?

(5) NYCHA is missing 100,000 of it’s supplies with a little or no control of 100 million more of it’s assets, according to an audit report.  Who is in charge of controlling these assets and will they be held responsible for the fall out this report brings?

(6) There are more children growing up in poverty then in the year 2000.  How will the media and the Presidential candidates address this truly troubling statistic?

(7) You will be more successful if you embrace your anxiety and channel it into energy then try to quiet it down according to several studies. Will we as a society learn from this report or will we continue to try to prevent ourselves from seeing the benefit of all our emotions?

Sabbath & Social Life

sabbath fun

Of course most people who observe the Sabbath do it for the religious reasons but it’s also a great way to deal with social life pressures as well.  For those that observe this day of rest can’t go out on Friday night and the Sabbath can end late on Saturday night as well so you can have excuse for checking out early that night.  A matter of fact you can get your need for socializing at the Synagogue as you observe Kiddish with a few of your friends which usually includes a little spirits to get you in the faithful mood.  So if you have no plans for this weekend why not go to your local synagogue, (they don’t check I’D’s)  you can claim to have some religious awakening and your plans will be taken care of by a higher authority.

Idolize/Respect/Jealous

see saw

It is a difficult to balance within the 3 emotions when you are dealing with an individual who has reached a higher social status then you either through wealth, education, popularity or a combination of the above. We shouldn’t idolize any person because all their talents, possessions and popularity are loaned to them by G-D and at any moment they can be taken away. At the same time we shouldn’t be jealous of their achievements because they were able to utilize those loans to move up the social ladder while we’re still trying to find the steps.  Respect for what there position in life is the exact spot to be at. It includes listening but discussing, honor without blindness, and appreciation of where we are today and how far we’ve actually climbed ourselves.

Tsarnaev not the only one.

THOSE WHO WERE MURDERED

Boston Bomber Tsarnaev deserves the death Penalty but he’s not the only one.  Any person who is convicted of murder in the 1st decree with some DNA evidence and has gone through the necessary appeals is also on that list.  I would also add those who have been convicted of 1st decree child  rape charges as well as rape of the elderly.  Just like a rabid animal if a person commits such heinous acts then they lose all humanity and compassion is cruel to their victims.

Makes you happy.

smile

There are times in life when we wonder whether we are spending all our time and effort trying to make others happy but haven’t thought about our own little balls of smiles.  Making others happy can definitely add a few balls to the mix but sometimes we have to do some little acts that are just for us. Here are few ways that I personally find make me happy.

(1) WORKING OUT- Initially it might not appear that this will bring happiness but by the time the work out is in it’s final moments my smile can’t be hidden.

(2) GOOD CHOCOLATE- Sometimes even okay chocolate will do the trick.

(3) DOGS- They make me smile even if it’s just looking at them.

(4) ART- I enjoy so many different aspects whether it be through reading, listening, watching or a combination of all the senses.

(5) HUMOR- Who doesn’t enjoy a good joke even if it’s at their expense as long as it’s only a few cents.

(6) ACCOMPLISHING- After a task is complete and checked off I usally allow myself a 1/2 smile

(7) DAYDREAMING- These are the dreams that always have a happy ending until reality wakes them up.

Blasphemy

blasphemy

The punishment’s written for acts of Blasphemy in the Torah/Bible may appear quite harsh (death) but when we look at the deeper meaning and the times the punishment appears to fit the crime.  In the times that a blasphemer was put to death many conditions had to be met such as it had to be witnessed by several individuals who would become the executioners if the verdict was such and this was a time when those who were alive directly experienced the 10 commandments being given or their parents did.    Today those that practice blasphemy appear to get away with it (except if your live under Sharia Law) with freedom of speech and religion (or non thereof) prevailing against the crime. Yet those that blasphemy become separated from G-D who created them.  They may go through their existence just existing like a ghost unable to find the path that was meant for them.  They may not literally be dead but without redemption and forgiveness their true path is covered and they wander the world searching in vain.

Time Machine Moment

time machine

No I didn’t invent a time machine (although I’m working on it lol) I just had a moment that took me back to the past.  I stepped back in time to visit a place that I haven’t been to since my age was only in one number.  This was my number one burger place “Hardees” and even though they changed the signs old memories and tastes came alive as I walked through those doors.  A char coaled flavor burger hit my tongue and I repeated that flavor several times in the day.  It was great to go back even if it was just for one burger.   Do you have a similar restaurant or store that would take you back.

Disappointments

disappointment

How many disappointments can you absorb before you just settle?  Whether this be in your personal or business life, when has that line been crossed?  It is important that when you get into such a funk that you build yourself out of it step by step and realize  Mt Everest might not be in your future but why stop climbing? Yes you will fall but don’t let those bruises disable you from the climb. Here are 2 Mt Everest (below) that I’ve realized will only stay in my dreams but I still see have many hills in my future how about you?

(1) POLITICIAN- I don’t have the smile, voice or back stabbing ability to climb those hills. Yet I realize that there can be a great say in the back ground.

(2) ENTERTAINER- There are so many extraordinary people out there who deserve their spot in the sun before me.
